OFFCenter Community Arts Project
OFFCenter is a community art space located in the heart of downtown Albuquerque. The Center is home to an open studio, gallery and sales shop. Anyone in the community is welcome to come to OFFCenter to make and buy art. Artists of low income are especially encouraged to make art in the studio, sell their work in the sales shop and submit their work for display in the gallery. Individuals, families and groups participate in a wide variety of both casual open studios and organized activities.
We believe in art making as central to community building. Shared creative expression leads to shared visions and the emergence of a compassionate common life.
Artists at OFFCenter are self-described. They determine the meaning and value of their own work. As members of the community of artists, they help envision and decide the direction of the program. They support and inspire each other through informal contact and involvement in the Emerging Artists Network.
OFFCenter Community Arts Project is a private non-profit, 501©3 organization. Your donations are tax deductable.

Economic Development
- 80+ artists are represented in the OFFCenter shop.
- Since 2002, OFFCenter has launched the careers of about two dozen artists who now sell their work in other galleries in New Mexico and beyond, as well as in OFFCenter's shop and gallery.
- OFFCenter sales opportunities include its shop and gallery, annual local crafts fairs and privately commissioned work.
- In addition to its focus on economic development for individual artists, OFFCenter is also working to expand and revision income-producing projects to sustain the organization itself. Examples include ongoing grantwriting, networking and fundraising, Saturday art classes, an enhanced web presence, and onsite risograph printing and picture framing services.
The Gallery
Often, work emerges from formal and informal workshops conducted at OFFCenter before each show, and the hanging process is open, non-juried, and democratic
