There are some Trees we do not like
This lens came about because of a post about unlikable trees not suitable for the residential landscape. That post happened because of a comment to a quote I referred to in an earlier post.
The quote was from Dr. Mark Cathey about Bradford Pear and how over-rater the Bradford was as a tree for the residential landscape, or as a street tree.
Which they are/were/always will be. Short lived, cracked branches, splitting in the crotches . . . . ew!
The backlash against Bradfords snowballed from there. I posted about this backlash and viola' more entries to the offender list came pouring in. Well they came in. One here, two there, another one, and so-on-and-so-forth. You get the picture.
So what I will do here is post a list of those "offensive trees, give a little background-if needed, and let you vote on the list that's here.
There is a way at the bottom of the list to add another offender if you feel inclined to do so. Be my guest.
After all this is an open list, not my list of offensive trees.

From case-studies, to drawings, to events. Things happening in the world of Professional Landscape Design.
As a Professional Landscape Designer, I feel the desire to give back to the community, and to have an outlet for others to see what I am working on has been great-I have enjoyed the interaction, and the challenge to post good relevant material.

A list to vote on as supplied by readers of the WCI BLog
Here they are, The bad boys of the landscape-the unwanted. Not every tree is needed, desired, or loved. There are reasons for this and they are usually good ones.
I have not personally commented on these nominations. I leave it up to the reader(s) to decide.
Click on an up arrow to give it a point, the down arrow just moves it down a notch. this is my 1st attempt at this type of list, so we will see how it works, or does not work.
If you want to add to the list look at the bottm and submit. The button on the right gives you an opportunity to put list on your page.
