Larger, more complex pieces might even take six or seven hours.

That is one reason why it is wise to wait to tighten the nuts and screws completely until you have the entire piece assembled and feel confident that everything is in the right place. If you have power tools, though, like an electric drill or cordless screwdriver, you can speed up the assembly process by putting them to work.
