Office 2007 is very different...

Microsoft Office 2007 is quite a departure from prior versions of MS Office! Not only is there a new look to the toolbar and menu structure, navigation, operation and file structures are new. New isn't bad, but new can be quite unsettling for the average user. I had to deal with a new install of MS Office 2007 for a single user in a small office where all other's are using earlier versions of Office and particularly MS Word.

The traditional Tools menu and Options box are fragmented and dispersed. 2007 Word wants to save documents in XML rather than the traditional doc format. Office 2007 can coexist with earlier versions, but not without some impact on users; it is a better fit in an office where it is the prevailing or only Office suite.

This sent me on a search for answers, workarounds, quick fixes and tutorials to speed up my learning curve and get some quick answers before the new user and existing users started getting frustrated. This led me to some very useful material and some very good and very quick solutions.

This lens is meant to be a resource reference for those who have to deal with MS Office 2007 and it's unique design.
