    some offices are very drab. An office is a place where you will be sitting fot a good many hours a day,therefore a bit of decor would brighten up the place a bit

    Plants, daylight, ensuring that the acoustics of the office space are all good ways of getting a better office environment for your staff.

    We also recommend having a look at using flexible working practices, for example by getting staff to share desks instead of having dedicated desk space. If you still give every member of staff their own desk, have a look on a typical day what percentage of them is empty? Our experience suggests at least 50%.

    How much space (and therefore costs, both rent and energy) could be saved if you only provided desks for 60% or 70% of your total number of staff, with everyone taking an empty desk when they arrive?

    It is very important to create a pleasant working environment for employees. Plants are a great way to add some colour and freshness to an office space.

    Thanks for these ideas here, the aquarium and plants, as well as art works and other decor will make an office a zen and relaxing place that people want to be in. And that is a good thing!

    I like all of your ideas on decorating the office especially putting a small fountain that generates the soothing background noise of running water. An aquarium I believe will top this off perfectly. Fresh plants or flowers are things that bring life into the office and is needed as well...great post.

    I must agree that putting up green ornaments or plants is a good office decoration because its presence relaxes and relieves stresses.

    A place i used to work had an aquarium in it, and it made a lot of difference. No one should have a boring office
