A couple days ago, a 47 year old Scottish woman by the name Susan Boyle took the internet by storm. Now 14 million hits on Youtube later, Season 3 contestant of Britain's' Got Talent Susan Boyle is now an international sensation.

Before walking on stage, Susan Boyle described herself as hailing from Blackburn, is a collection of villages in West Lothian, Scotland. She also mentioned living with her cat Pebble and having never being kissed. She also told the Ant and Dec, the hosts of Britain's' Got Talent that her late mother, who had lived with her until her death two years prior, encouraged her to compete on the show.

While Susan Boyle's persona and fashion sense may not be that of a Madonna her /arjun24.singorama.hop.clickbank.net/" target="_top">voice is on a level of its own. Not unlike Paul Potts, the season 1 winner of Britain's' Got Talent, Boyle's singing talent's are something to be heralded.

Susan Boyle sang an ovation worthy rendition of 'I Dreamed a Dream' from 'Les Miserables'. Not only did her performance seem drowned out by the sound of the audiences applause at some points but Susan Boyle has now been dubbed "The Woman Who Shut Up Simon Cowell (Wikipedia). Boyle's performance drew standing ovations from both Piers Morgan who gave her the "biggest yes vote in three seasons" and judge Amanda Holden.

Susan Boyle's Personal History

Boyle is the youngest of nine children and suffered oxygen deprivation during birth, resulting in learning disabilities. Her classmates teased her because of this and her appearance. She stopped her pursuit of singing to look after her sick mother, who died in 2007 at the age of 91. She is unmarried and presently unemployed. She aspires to become a musician in the same vein as musical theatres singer Elaine Paige.

Simon Cowell is reported to be setting up a contract with Boyle with his Syco Music label, a subsidiary of Sony Music. In a recent interview with the Daily Mirror newspaper, Boyle confirmed she had a meeting with the SONY BMG record company but said "I can't say much about it. It's early days and I'm taking baby steps."

Subsequent to her performance on Britain's Got Talent, Boyle was a guest on STV's The Five Thirty Show. She was interviewed via satellite on CBS's Early Show and ABC's Good Morning America, and via a telephone interview on the Fox channel's America's Newsroom. In an interview, Simon Cowell said that Susan Boyle had received an invitation to appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show and predicted that if she did appear "there's every chance Susan Boyle will have the number one album in America."

Susan Boyle has only ever sung in local choirs and at karaoke, despite singing since age 12.

She thinks modern society is too quick to judge people on their appearances. "There is not much you can do about it; it is the way they think; it is the way they are," she declared. "But maybe this could teach them a lesson, or set an example."

Boyle's favourite drink at the local bar is apparently a simple glass of lemonade. (Entertainment STV).

Is That Susan Boyle's Magic Hairbrush?

Lyrics to I Dreamed a Dream by Les Miserables

Song sung by Susan Boyle on her Britain's Got Talent debut

Lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer
Music by Claude-Michel Schonberg

There was a time, when men were kind
And their voices were soft
And their words were inviting
There was a time, when love was blind
And the world was a song
And the song was exciting
There was a time it all went wrong

I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high and life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving

Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung, no wine untasted

But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they turn your hope apart
As they turn your dreams to shame

He slept a summer by my side
He filled my dreams with endless wonder
He took my childhood in his stride
But he was gone when autumn came

And still I dream he'd come to me
That we would live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather

I had a dream my life would be
So different from the hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed

Drew starred in "Never Been Kissed" a decade ago, playing bookish 30-something Josie Geller, who goes back to high school on a journalism assignment and eventually ends up falling in love and getting her first kiss.

After hearing about Susan's real life "Never Been Kissed" story from Access Hollywood while on the "Grey Gardens" red carpet in Los Angeles Thursday evening, Drew said she had high hopes for Susan's first smooch.

When asked who Susan should kiss first, Drew said it was a decision that despite her movie pedigree, she wasn't qualified to weigh in on.
"Well who am I - after [47] years of a life decision to tell her who she should kiss," Drew said sweetly. "But I hope it's a good one!" (Yahoo News)

@Susan Boyle: And A Thumbs Up To You Too !!

Do You Want To Sing Like Susan Boyle Of Britain's Got Talent?

Not many people are born with perfect pitch or the vocal range
to sing like Susan Boyle of Britain's Got Talent. However, lessons with vocal trainers, simple breathing techniques and plenty of practise do have the ability to improve one's voice.

To start off, try some of the following breating excercises.

To breathe properly for singing, you must breathe low into the bottom portion of the lungs, engaging the diaphragm. Your rib cage and back will expand. Your shoulders and upper chest will remain still and will not rise.
Try it yourself: Inhale deeply and exhale completely. Again inhale and exhale.
Now try it again, only this time inhale for four counts, hold your breath for four counts, exhale over four counts and then wait four counts before inhaling again. Let's do three complete sets of that counting exercise. Remember to inhale deeply and properly for singing.

Inhale 2 3 4, Hold 2 3 4 Exhale 2 3 4 and Wait 2 3 Again.
Inhale 2 3 4, Hold 2 3 4 Exhale 2 3 4 and Wait 2 3 Last Time.
Inhale 2 3 4, Hold 2 3 4 Exhale 2 3 4 and Wait 2 3 4.

This basic exercise is an easy one you can do every day. Plain fact, the more you exercise your breathing, the more control you will have over your voice. With a little time and practice you will be a master of breathing control. As you make progress, challenge yourself to increase the breathing count to 8, 12, 16 and more. For best results mix and match the numbers. The size of singing phrase is never the same, so practicing all different airflow situations is ideal. Breathing correctly needs to be a habit, meaning you need to do it correctly without thinking about it. So in the beginning you really want to concentrate on the proper technique.

BONUS TIP: Are you sure you're breathing right? If you are uncertain of yourself see if this little experiment helps. Sit in a chair and while keeping your back straight, lean over and put your elbows on your knees. Take a deep breath. Feel your back and rib cage expand? Now sit up and work to duplicate the feeling, only the expansion should be a ring around your entire body. (Source).

Phenomenal singers like Susan Boyle Of Britain's Got Talent also have to work and train their voices to keep up with the rigours and demands of being professional musicians.

Once you understand the basics of singing, you can begin to play and have fun with the melody and toneof the song.

The color and character you add to your singing tone and vocal performancecan be as unique as your fingerprint.

Don't be afraid to experiment to find your comfort zone. Some people truly enjoy singing
karaoke or singing with a cover band - all the while working to sound like the popular artist that made the song famous. There is nothing wrong with this, but it is also not a rule you must follow. Don't be afraid to share your own sound, your own style.

One thing is true, singing someone else's message is rarely the way to a standing ovation. Sing your own message with sincere intent. "Own the song" you are singing, whether it is similar to what has been known before or very different. Make it yours. You tell the audience what their perception of the performance should be...only you. Only you gives someone permission to make you feel inferior as you sing. So sing proudly, no matter what your level of expertise or experience. (Source).
