  • peppervel Oct 18, 2011 @ 2:08 am | delete
Never been to Ohio. But had fun reading your lens. Had visited a few 'haunted' houses here in Singapore in my younger days. It was thrilling!
  • beckyf Oct 14, 2011 @ 5:57 pm | delete
    Excellent lens!
  • Craigers Oct 14, 2011 @ 9:08 am | delete
I used love haunted houses. My friends and I would make spook alleys every year in my garage. None of them were as cool as the houses above, but it was still a blast for us. Maybe I should convince my wife to go visit a couple this year.

  • gypsyman27 Oct 7, 2011 @ 4:26 am | delete
I'll have to visit these places when I'm in Ohio. I have an attachment to haunted houses and especially stories of haunted houses. For instance, Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House. "Hill House, not sane, exists in absolute sanity", now that is prose. Great lens, well done. See you around the galaxy...
  • ModernChakra Oct 6, 2011 @ 3:08 am | delete
This is awesome! I can't believe i found a page dedicated just to Ohio Haunted Houses. Thank you very much for putting together such a comprehensive list! Many thanks from a Lakewood, OH residents (Cleveland's little brother). Take care.... Time to share this with my Ohio Facebookers...

I am an adult. Way into adulthood. I know haunted houses are fake and set up to scare. I am scared too scared, I don't like being scared. I know that the mummy will jump up, but the mummy will still scare me. I need my coffee.

  • LizRobertson Sep 27, 2011 @ 1:03 am | delete
Great resource! How about this for Fort St. Clair in our town, Eaton, Ohio...
The battle ground of Fort St. Clair is said to be haunted by a soldier, perhaps one of the 6 Kentucky militiamen killed in an ambush by 200 of Little Turtle's Warriors in 1792? There are also reports of an Indian who dances around a fire in the ravine below the site of the old fort, perhaps reenacting his pre-attack war dance?
  • lisaremmick Sep 27, 2011 @ 12:33 am | delete
This was a lot of work to put together. I was actually born and raised in Cortland, Warren Ohio so I do know of many of these places. My Mom has stories.....

I like the Wells Township Haunted House. The haunted thrills I like are walking through creepy woods on Hallows Eve. My lens http://www.squidoo.com/creepy-hayrides-in-virginia lists the ones nearby me and for fun I showed my girls Laurie and Maggie in their Halloween outfits in my lens http://www.squidoo.com/doggie-halloween-tiara-show. Happy spooking!

I am a HUGE Halloween fan and no wonder, I was born in Ohio. (Dayton actually) But to my shame I have never actually visited any of these haunts, of course being in the military we had never got back that way. I will definitely have to keep a list and visit each one, one day. Do you know if they are always open or only during October?

5* for Ohio Haunted houses. I've been to the Haunted Caves in Lewisburg, and the Lockington Haunted Firehouse, both were pretty cool.
