Ohio Steelhead Fishing is some of the Best in the World
Many fisherman have heard the word Steelhead. Some think you have to go to exotic places that are out of reach of an ordinary fishermans budget. THAT IS NOT TRUE. Right here in the Great Lakes region you will find steelhead in numbers that rival the western heydays. These transplanted fish use the vast lakes as their oceans and return to spwan like thier ocean counterparts. They only difference is size and ambiance. The tactics may vary from one river to another, but traditional western tactics do work under the right conditions. I have witnessed both sides of the world and have found the same fish. Ohio steelhead fishing will shock those whom though it not possible to hook and land this magestic fish while a jet plane rumbles overhead.

Conneaut is getting hot, as the main runs of Pennsylvania Steelhead are pushing through. A couple of Manistees are right behind, but for the most part its "attack of the clones!!" This is my second favorite month for Steelhead and catches like this are quite common.
