Congratulations to Katy Vegod Arvia

Katy found the Ohme Bug on Nov 5 at Avenue of Oaks

Katy Vegod Arvia finds the Ohme Bug at Avenue of OaksKaty had been shopping around the square during the Holiday Open House in the Village on Friday afternoon. She had been in Mountain Made and thought the Ohme Bug might be in there but she didn't find her. She strolled on down to Avenue of Oaks and was standing talking to friends when she spotted her in a cabinet. Katy was shocked when she actually saw the Ohme Bug sitting there on a shelf. Others in the shop said that they had been looking for her but couldn't find her. Shop owners Carol and Cynthia Nixon told Katy that she could pick out the prize she wanted and they showed her around and made some suggestions. Katy was thrilled when she saw the Byers Snowman and chose that as her prize.

Congratulations Katy!

What In The World Is The Ohme Bug?

Ohme is my Grandmother Name and my Squidoo Name

Ohme

When I needed an avatar for my Squidoo Account, I thought about my Grandmother name which is Ohme. My grandson gave me that name because I said "Ohhhhhhhhh meeeee" a lot when he was little. I was due a knee replacement and it was hard to get to a standing position while holding him so I would say "Ohhhhhhhh meeeee" and he would mock me. I would laugh and then he would laugh. He then started saying it everytime he saw me and the name just stuck.

I took the 4 letters from the Ohme name and made this little bug character who has developed a personality all of her own. I noticed on Zazzle that you could have a statute made and of course I had one made of the Ohme Bug. She sits near my computer and advises me from time to time.

Where On The Square Is The Ohme Bug

On November 5, 2010 the Ohme Bug will be hidden in one of our shops on the square participating in the Holiday Open House in the Village. She will be in plain view somewhere in one of our wonderful shops on  or near the square.

The Photo Sculpture by Zazzle is described this way:

Sculpture (with Stand)
Whether on a desk at the office or in the living room, photo sculptures bring your memories to life. Made of acrylic with black stand. Final sculpture size depends on cut-out size of your image.

The Acrylic Ohme Bug is 3 inches tall including the black stand.
I also have a shop on Zazzle called Ohme's Zazzle

What Do You Need To Do To Find The Ohme Bug?

Do you need to visit each shop on the square?

Where On The Square Is The Ohme Bug

I think it would be wonderful if each person looking for the Ohme Bug did visit each and every shop on or near the square. Yes, you could spend a whole day going from shop to shop. You don't have to make a purchase but of course, it would be nice. Please spend some time in each shop and see what all they have. Introduce yourself to the owner and tell her/him what you are doing. You might see something that you would like to purchase for a Christmas Gift for maybe something for yourself.

She could be hiding among the stamps at the Mercantile or standing beside one of the Beyers Carolers at Avenue of Oaks. She could be in one of the many nooks and crannys at Village Station Antiques or on a shelf at Parker Originals. Maybe she is on top of a book at Mountain Made Antiques or sitting in a shoe at C2 Consignments or she could be well hidden among the treasures at Past Time Antiques.

Last time that Ohme went into hiding, she was found at BlueRidge Antiques so maybe she has found her way back there or next door at Colonial Square Antiques. She could be at The Framery or in the window of Ammons Portrait Studio.

So what are you waiting for? Head to Pendleton SC and shop around with one eye looking out for the Ohme Bug.

Kate Loving Shenk aka Mukunda22 found the Ohme Bug

April 2010 at 1826 On The Green in Pendleton SC

Kate finds the OhMe BugKate had read about the Ohme Bug and had made the statement that she wanted to find her when she came for a visit to Pendleton. Kate joined us at Our Tate Family Reunion and she had lunch with my sisters and I at 1826 On The Green on Thursday before our reunion began on Friday. We sat at one of the tables on the patio and I had the Ohme Bug sitting in plain site on the table. We were so busy talking and getting to know each other that Kate was about to leave without finding the Ohme Bug so we threw out some hints and she was thrilled when she finally saw her on the table.

Kate is shown here with the Ohme Bug and with SquidLou. SquidLou went everywhere we went and represented all of our friends on Squidoo.

Our Tate Family Reunion was a lot of fun!
