Discover Oil Pastels!
Oil pastels are a relatively new medium in the art world. But they're quickly gaining in popularity for many reasons. Oil pastel colors are intense and rich. Their texture ranges from hard and waxy to soft and buttery. They can be applied to almost any surface or support. Brushes, mediums and solvents are not necessary for painting with oil pastels. In fact I almost strictly use my fingers for blending.
Painting or drawing with oil pastels is often compared to painting with lipstick. They're a real pleasure to work with and have been my favourite fine art medium for over 10 years.
I created this lens to spread the word about oil pastels and their incredible potential as a fine art medium. I'll also introduce you to the some of talented oil pastelists working with the medium today, a provide resources for new and experienced oil pastel painters.
