The University of Oklahoma has had 21 Head Football Coaches. We are the only program in the Nation with Four coaches with 100 plus wins! Barry Switzer has the most wins At an amazing 157! He also has the Best winning percentage at .837. Barry Switzer had 100 conference Wins! The Best conference winning percentage belongs to Bud Wilkinson at .900! Bennie Owen holds the longest tenure at 22 seasons. Most conference titles goes to Bud Wilkinson at 14. Most Bowl wins goes to Barry Switzer at the mark of 8 wins and 5 losses. He also coached in the most Bowls at 13. We have 5 coaches in the college football hall of fame. Three coaches in the Oklahoma sports Hall of Fame!

Oklahoma's first year of playing football was in 1895! We have played in 1146 games though the Tulsa game in 2009. Our all time record through the Tulsa game in 2009 is 795 wins, 298 losses and 53 ties. Our record since World War 2 is 551 wins, 166 losses and 13 ties which are number one in the nation during the same time period. Our record since the A.P. poll started in 1936 is 608 wins, 195 losses and 22 ties again number one in the Nation. We have 42 conference titles, 6 big twelve titles and 7 big twelve south titles. We have appeared in 42 bowl games, with a record of 24 wins, 17 losses and 1 tie. The number of weeks we have been ranked in the AP polls 683 of 994 weekly polls since 1936. Weeks at number one in the A.P. poll is 97 which is number one in the nation! Our average final A.P. ranking is 7.39 which is number one in the nation. Week's ranked number one in the BCS is 19 and yes that's number one in the nation. Weeks ranked in the top five of the BCS is 45 weeks and yes that is number one in the Nation! We have 148 All Americans with 65 being a consensus. We have had a first team all conference players every year since 1926 with a total of 439 players obtaining this achievement. We have five Heisman trophy winners, Sam Bradford in 2008, Jason White in 2003, Billy Sims in 1978, Steve Owens in 1969 and Vessels in 1952! We have 5 outland trophy winners the last one going to Jammal Brown in 2004. We have 4 Butkus award winners the last going to Teddy Lehman in 2003. We have four O'Brien award winners the last going to Sam Bradford in 2008. We have 3 Lombardi award winners with the last one going to Tommie Harris in 2003. We have 3 Thorpe award winners with the most recent going to Derrick Strait in 2003. We have 63 national award winners. 339 NFL draft picks, two being number one! We have 37 first round NFL picks with the last one being Adrian Peterson in 2007. We had 22 AFL draft picks. We have 18 in the college hall of fame. Two in the Pro Football Hall of Fame! We have 19 in the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame!
