Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System Review

These are the two powerhouse skin cleansing devices right now, but which one is better!

I have used both these brushes, and as you already now I'm guessing there is a huge price difference between these two with the Clarisonic costing around $150-$200 and the Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System costing around $20-$30.

This huge price diffrence would make you feel there would be a huge difference between these two models, but the truth is so far I have not seen any real difference, the Clarisonic may get a little deeper and remove make-up easier but there is definitely not $170 worth of difference.

As far as which one is better I would say they are about the same, although if I'm being honest I do use my Clarisonic more only because I invested a lot more money into it, but if you do not want to spend that kind of money or cannot afford it right now this is a great alternative.

As stated above I have been using the brush a little over 4 months now, but what results have I seen in that time. I will go through this month by month.

Month 1

During the first month during the first week of using the device my skin actually got worse, with three new acne breakout. I was not to worried about this thought as I knew it was most likely a phase called "purging" which happens a lot when your skin is adjusting to a new product.

After the first week things started to improve, the new breakouts had quickly subsided and the redness that was coming up after using the brush very quickly started to become better.

The rest of the first month carried on with small improvements with the odd acne breakouts.

Month 2

Month 2 was interesting month as it started off really well. I had no acne breakouts during the first half of the month and the existing ones started to look better. However during the last half of the second month a little rash showed up.

This was very worrying because I was not sure if it was because of the Olay Pro X or not. Luckily I later found out it was a new moisturiser I had been using that caused it.

Month 3

This was the most exciting month as it was the first one that I noticed a real difference, and more importantly so did others. I had a few comments from people telling me how my skin was looking much better.

During the whole of month 3 I had no new acne breakouts, old acne was started to disappear back into the skin and my skin felt a lot more smooth too.

Month 4

This is the last month I can report on so far with the results. During this month was when I realized how cheap Olay were selling this brush for. Month 4 no new acne breakouts again, old acne had cleared 70%+ and the hyperpigmentation (acne marks) that I had been suffering with for over 7 months also started to fade.

All in all my skin just looked so much better than before using the brush. I really could not get my head around though as to why Olay sell this for so cheap, as they could easily sell it at a higher price, and most likely get more sales, as I think many avoid this and by the Clarisonic thinking it is much more superior because of the higher price, but it really is not. Try it for yourself and I think you will be really happy you did.
