They are strong but they barely ever use their strength. They are friendly and enjoy in people's company. This characteristic makes them very popular among families with small children. They are patient and they tolerate pain very well.

However, the phrase "Stubborn as a bulldog" is not just a phrase. Stubbornness is something English bulldog is known for. This can cause a few problems if you want to train them. English bulldog are very smart and they learn fast but they just like to do it their way. But it is not impossible to train them. Be patient.

They also know no bounds when it comes to eating. They would eat anything they get or find. It seems they are always hungry. Do not give them food anytime you think they are hungry. Follow the instructions. It is for their own good.

You should also know that they are putting up with heat very bad. They should never be exposed to the sun and they should always have a lot of water available.

They should be exercised regularly, although they do not like that very much.

If you do not like having long walks then English bulldog is the dog for you. Their favorite thing to do is sleeping. They are able to sleep entire day as long as someone is around them. You do not have to overreact with exercising but not doing it at all, is bad for them too.

The only thing they require is a lot of love. They need a lot of attention and if they get it they are your best friends for ever.

Unfortunately, they are subject to many diseases but with the right care most of them can be prevented. Before buying an English bulldog make sure you know as much as possible about this breed. They are special dogs you will realize that soon if you already have not.
