Vintage postcards, from 1900 to the 1950's.
This lens is about some of the vintage postcards me and my wife own, dating from about 1900 through to the 1950's.
My wife particularly likes collecting pictures of children and dolls, but other than that, there is no particular theme, they are a just a selection of postcards that we like.
Some for the insight they give into how and where we lived in the past, others simply because of their visual appeal.

These three vintage postcards date from the Edwardian period, circa 1900 to 1910.

Stone quarry at Yeadon near Leeds around 1900.
Taken around 1900 to 1910 at William Flesher and sons quarries, Yeadon near Leeds.
If you look closely you can see the wooden clogs on the workers feet, typical attire for workmen at this time.

Sporting vintage postcards.
These postcards show different sporting teams, taken
between circa 1910 and the 1950's.
The football team is Knowle Park, the name is visible on the footbal. I would like to know where they were based, anyone with any idea please let me know.
The cricket team is around the 1950's, judging by the clothing of those at the sides.
I think the final team are gymnasts.

Faith Hope and Charity vintage postcards.
This set was a popular theme for some years and there were many different sets produced. These probably date from around 1900 to 1920.

From around 1900 to 1920's, the last 2 appear to be hand tinted.
Vintage postcards, rocking horse and toy car.
Never seen a rocking horse with stripes before, perhaps it should be called a rocking zebra instead.
He's not a happy bunny though, just look at his face.

First one is a charming portrayal of a mother and daughter.
The next shows 3 siblings, one with a teddybear and one with a doll

Pontefract circa 1909 and around 1930.
The first card, which has been postally used and is dated 1909, shows the buttercross and Saint Giles church in Pontefract town centre. this view is substantially the same today.

Vintage studio portraits circa 1900.
These two are not postcards, but studio portraits taken in Sheffield around 1900.
The final scan shows the reverse side with the studio name, in my opinion, these are just as interesting as the photographs themselves.
