Historic Aircraft in Vintage Postcards

We have a collection of more than 100 old postcards depicting historic aircraft. The majority are from the Second World War and just before, so that you can see Spitfires, Lancasters etc. There are some great images, so please visit our website and enjoy what you see.

An Air France Lockheed "Constellation"

The Lockheed Constellation was a propeller-driven airliner built by Lockheed between 1943 and 1958. A total of 856 aircraft were produced in four models, all distinguished by a triple-tail design and dolphin-shaped fuselage. The Constellation was used as a civilian airliner and as a U.S. military air transport, seeing service in the Berlin Airlift.

The Fairey "Hendon" was a British monoplane heavy bomber of the Royal Air Force designed by Fairey Aviation in the late 1920s. It served with one Squadron of the RAF between 1936 and 1939.

A Lockheed "Hudson" Bomber

The Lockheed Hudson was an American-built light bomber and coastal reconnaissance aircraft built initially for the Royal Air Force shortly before the outbreak of the Second World War and primarily operated by the RAF thereafter. The Hudson was the first significant aircraft construction contract for the Lockheed Aircraft Corporation-the initial RAF order for 200 Hudsons far surpassed any previous order the company had received. The Hudson served throughout the war, mainly with Coastal Command but also in transport and training roles as well as delivering agents into occupied France. They were also used extensively with the Royal Canadian Air Force's anti-submarine squadrons. (the above from Wikipedia)

Some Hawker "Harts"

The Hawker Hart was a British two-seater biplane light bomber of the Royal Air Force (RAF), which had a prominent role during the RAF's inter-war period. The Hart was designed during the 1920s by Sydney Camm and built by Hawker Aircraft. It spawned several variants, including a naval version. (The above from Wikipedia).
