The Old Smokey Charcoal Grill

The Old Smokey Charcoal Grill is one of the oldest and best known and most loved BBQ pits in the world.

The company has been around (located in Houston, Texas) for like 80 years, and I've personally been cooking on Old Smokeys for 40 years. I would not even think about buying any other brand of BBQ pit.

We grill every weekend at my house, and sometimes during the week also, and I own and use all three sizes of the Old Smokey.

Old Smokey Charcoal Grills

Grilling With the Best!

Small Old Smokey Charcoal Grill

Old Smokey Charcoal Grill # 14 Small

A barbeque just isn't a barbeque without the proper equipment, but when you don't have a lot of space or need one of those huge grills, there's the Old Smokey Charcoal Grill # 14 Small which is perfect for the job.

And while it may be small, that doesn't mean it isn't mighty! Not only can this little guy be used for grilling, it can also be used for smoking most of your favorite foods like burgers, hot dogs, bratwursts, chicken breasts or maybe a half slab of ribs.

And while you won't be able to cook for a crowd, it's perfect if you're a bachelor or want to invite a few friends over. Take it to tailgate parties, on fishing and camping trips, or to the beach. Or leave the oven off on a hot day and cook dinner outdoors on this Old Smokey Charcoal Grill.

The unit is made from an aluminized steel which resists rust and corrosion making it easy to use all-year-round. So now there's no excuse not to invite your parents or your date over for a Christmas grilled ham steak!

And while the legs are shorter than most charcoal grills ( the unit stands at about knee height), it can be placed on a table for easier access or you can purchase extensions for the legs that will bring it to about waist level. There are dampers at the top and bottom of the unit that regulate airflow to allow foods to cook evenly and thoroughly.

And of course, it's a great buy at $30 or less (the cost of a couple of steak dinners out), so there's really no reason not to own one. Good things do come in small package and the Old Smokey Charcoal Grill # 14 Small is proof of that!

This small Old Smokey Charcoal Grill is great for cooking for two to four people.

Medium Old Smokey Charcoal Grill

Old Smokey Charcoal Grill # 18 Medium

The medium size Old Smokey Charcoal Grill is great for cooking for four to six people and for "smoking" small items (that is, cooking them off of direct heat) like a pork tenderloin. This is the best-selling model.

If you want to be able to enjoy both grilled and smoked foods then you may want to give the Old Smokey Charcoal Grill # 18 Medium a try. While the unit is designed specifically for grilling, it's versatile enough to be able to smoke foods for up to 6 people. It's perfect for those who like to barbeque, but don't want to invite the entire neighborhood.

It's perfect because it can be used for both direct and indirect cooking for just about any type of food you want to cook including corn on the cob, potatoes, fish, beef, chicken, pork, ham and even Cornish hens.

The Old Smokey Charcoal Grill is made of an aluminized steel and it's resistant to rust and corrosion which means you can use it all-year round. Just think how tasty your Thanksgiving or Christmas ham will be smoked or grilled. And even if you're not planning to barbeque at home, you can easily load it in the back of your vehicle and take it wherever you're planning to go.

The legs of the unit allow it to stand at about knee level or on a sturdy table, with the option of adding extensions (sold separately) to make it about waist level so you don't have to bend over while you're grilling. There are dampers located in the lid and bottom of the unit to allow airflow to regulate and flavor your foods.

In addition, you'll find that the Old Smokey Charcoal Grill # 18 Medium is made in the good ole' USA in Texas. And, it's practically a steal with a price of less than $60 so it's easy to fit into almost any budget. So if you've been dreaming of great barbeque, but weren't sure you could afford the price, now is the time to say yes to the best.

I've had an Old Smokey in my back yard for over 40 years now. I wouldn't grill on anything else!

Large Old Smokey Charcoal Grill

Old Smokey Charcoal Grill # 22 Large

Any barbeque lover knows that in order to become successful at grilling, it takes more than just the person behind the cooking - just as it takes more than a great charcoal grill to cook great foods. Still, it doesn't hurt to have both and when you're looking for the best, fans can tell you the Old Smokey Charcoal Grill #22 Large is one of those great barbeque grills.

And not only can it serve as a functional grilling unit, you can also use it for smoking and for roasting. The lid of the fantastic unit features a damper that when used in conjunction with the damper located at the bottom, regulates airflow for flavorful food every time.

The Old Smokey Charcoal Grill can be used for both direct and indirect grilling. It's perfect for cooking everything from steaks to hamburgers to briskets, ribs, seafood and even whole hams and chickens for a large crowd of up to 8 people.

The body of the unit is made of aluminized steel and is resistant to both rust and corrosion so you can use it all-year round. It stands on 3 legs which allow the entire system to stand at about knee high, however there are optional leg extensions (sold separately) for those who prefer a little more height.

It's also light enough at 22 pounds to bring along on camping trips, to tailgate parties, holiday get-togethers and even family vacations. And there's even side handles so you can move it quickly and easily.

And for those who prefer to purchase an American made product, you'll find that the Old Smokey Charcoal Grill #22 Large is made in Texas. Even the price really can't be beat and at less than $70, you'll be the hit of the neighborhood and your family in no time at all.

Old Smokey Electric Smoker

Old Smokey Electric Smoker

I don't know about you, but I love the taste of smoked meats. In fact, every Thanksgiving I look forward to the visit to my in-laws because they have an Old Smokey Electric Smoker that smokes the best darn brisket you've ever tasted!

I mean seriously, this outdoor smoking system is fantastic! It needs no water to smoke meats since the sealed lid is designed to actually keep in the juices of the meats. And because it is a flat-top design, it allows for continuous basting to bring even more flavor to your favorite smoked meats.

This Old Smokey Smoker includes two cooking racks so you can smoke up to two different meats for simple family get-togethers. The racks also have handles that fold so you can reach foods easier.

The drip pan keeps grease to a minimum for healthier cooking while also allowing for easy cleanup afterwards. There is a small tray that holds your wood chips for smoking the meats and giving it flavor. And there is a thermostat that lets you control the temperature of your smoking to cook foods thoroughly and evenly.

The body of the smoking unit is made of an aluminized steel that resists corrosion while the unit itself sits on a sturdy wire stand. The electrical cord is about 5 feet in length giving you enough room to plug it in without the need of an extension cord while the heating element puts out 1,250 watts at 120 volts.

I don't know of any reason why BBQ lovers wouldn't want to use this unit all-year round and at less than $150, the Old Smokey Electric Smoker is within almost anyone's budget. So if you love smoked meats and you're looking for an easy way to impress friends and family at family get-togethers, this is it.
