The Olde English Bulldogge is a Breed like no other. They are a re-creation of the 18th century Working Bulldogge. The Bulldogge is very alert, friendly, courageous, and loyal. They make very good family guardians because of their intelligence and trainability! The Olde English Bulldogge has the appearance of a Gladiator with their thick body, broad chest and massive head and the Courage to match! They are truly the Bulldogge of Old who are like no other Bulldog or Bull breed! The O.E.B derives from the very form function that created it. This breed is one that can stand on its own with very little out side influence but chooses to be with their family! They are natural breeders and Whelpers. They are free breathers and excel at any work or tasks asked of them. The Olde English Bulldogge thrives best interacting with their family in outdoor activities!

 Temperment Of The Olde English Bulldogge...

Olde English Bulldogges are fearless, determined, very courageous and suspicious of strangers and protective of property and owner, unfriendliness to strangers is not a defect, although it's unusual. This breed is happiest when active, likes to chew and should have lots of chew-toys and bones. The Rubber "Kong" toys are highly recommended. Olde English Bulldogges are very eager to please their owner which is often seen as over excitement! Female Olde English Bulldogges are often more territorial, protective and possessive than male Bulldogges.

 The Olde English Bulldogge is a very new and rare breed developed by a small hand full of bulldogge fanciers like Greg Hermes, The Wilkenson's, David Leavitt and others. It is said that the breed was developed by crossing half English bulldog, and the other half: Bullmastiff, Pit Bull, and American Bulldog. In the early 1970's this group had become wary of English Bulldogs due to their breeding, breathing and over all health problems. They discovered that they looked nothing like the Bulldog of old who were healthier and less extreme. There goal was to produce a dog with the looks of the 18th century bulldog, with the temperament of today's Bulldogs, yet healthy, without breathing problems, or all the other aliments today's Bulldogs are prone to. This new breed is now a very healthy, active breed that excels at working and many extreme dog sports. This new breed does not have any breathing problems. The Olde English Bulldogge is now a free breeder and whelper. On average the life span of a Bulldogge is over eleven years. Thanks to the select group of breeders that stayed true to there goal they are now producing Bulldogges that are superior to its counter part! It is now up to the future generation of breeders to produce a Bulldogge with only the best health and temperament!
