- Great list, one that came to mind which I haven't seen in ages is Hannibal Brooks with Oliver Reed, have you seen it? Set WW2 Brooks is a POW sent to work at a zoo and has to look after Lucy the Elephant. Great movie with a Michael J Pollard as a brilliant resistance fighter, worth a look.

- saw a movie when I was a kid, took place at the start of WWII I think, because they show people being captured and taken away..there is a family that gets separated (mother/father and little girl) because the mother I think hides out somewhere, so its years later and the mom finds her family in the U.S. somewhere I think (thats the end...) I know its not much, does that ring any bells?

- Can you help me with a title for an old black & white war movie that I saw about 30 years ago? The basic plot is about a British spy (I think) who is captured in Germany. Injured, he wakes up in an 'English' hospital, recuperating in the countryside, where he is told the war is over. The staff are supposedly English and fake English newspapers (dated years later) are left lying around. The Germans are trying to get vital war information out of him (since the war is over and we won, and what were you actually doing in Germany during that campaign again?) and he almost falls for it. But then he realises that only a short period of time has passed because he got a tiny paper cut on his finger just before flying to Germany and it was still sore. Despite going over his whole body, the Germans missed it. He tested his theory by going for a walk in the gardens, up to a guarded gate ('English' soldier of course) and he calls out 'Achtung!". The 'English' soldier clicks his heels as he stands to attention. He then plans to escape. That's all I remember but it was a good movie. Has anyone seen it and know what it's called?

- I think you mean The Last Flight of Noah's Ark, with Elliott Gould as the pilot of an old B-29 that crashes while flying a bunch of animals and they bump into a couple of Japanese soldiers who have been stranded on the island and don't know WW2 is long over.

- Actually, it may be Sahara, starring Humphrey Bogart. Check it out on the imdb site and see if that's the one you remember.

- I remember watching a war movie when i was a kid - a small group of English soldiers lost in the desert they found a buried tank in the sand which they dug up and got working. The movies was built up on the relationships of these soldiers and their survival - they travelled through the desert in this tank to they found a road and were rescued. It left an impression and i don't even know the name. Does it ring any bell for you
