A Short History of Olivia the Pig
Olivia began as a series of books by Ian Falconer, the first of which was published in 2000 and won the Caldecott Honor. Falconer was inspired by his baby niece, Olivia, and created these books as a gift for her. In 2008, production began on an animated Olivia cartoon series, which first aired in January 2009.

Olivia's Rules of Life
Olivia is very profound for a pig of only 6 3/4 years old! During each episode, Olivia imparts a little wisdom she has learned from her adventures (or misadventures.)
Here are a few of my favorite:
- #4. If you really want to hide your baby brother, change his diaper first.
- #14. If you wake your baby brother up from a nap, sometimes he'll get upset, and sometimes your mother will too.
- #42. If it weren't for mothers, little brothers would be very stinky.
- #44. Sometimes children know better than their parent, but we never tell them.

In 1923, Madame Beatrice Alexander Behrman founded the Alexander Doll Company; she saw to it that her dolls were always infused a sense of excitement, wonderment and quality, while never allowing her handcrafted creations to emerge looking anything less than impeccable.
