What to Look For

Not all Omega-3 supplements are created equal. What should you look for before buying?
  • Mercury Free - This is crucial. If your supplement does not indicate that it is free of mercury, you may as well be eating fish.
  • All Natural - Your supplement should be free of artificial ingredients.
  • Expiration Date - Omega-3 EFAs do spoil. Make sure your brand has an expiration date and that it is not too far out.
  • Dosage Claims - Does your supplement manufacturer conduct quality control procedures to guarantee the dosage listed on the outside is what you get on the inside?
  • EPA/DHA - Your Omega-3 brand should contain both of these types.
