OMG - Battle of the Fizz (355 ml. cans vs. 1L bottles)

Ranked #8,642 in Healthy Living, #144,247 overall

Who will win?

This site is to challenge you on whether you know enough about the soda that you are drinking. As I said on OMG - Open Your Eyes To Soda (355 ml. cans), "In no way is this a website telling you that soda is bad and that you should drink healthy drinks instead".

This is a website that is fun, educational and hopefully eye-opening.

As said on OMG - Open Your Eyes To Soda (355 ml. cans):

Conclusion

What We've Learnt So Far

A 1L. bottle of of Sprite has less calories than a 355ml. can of Sprite.

A 1L. bottle of Coca-Cola has the same number of calories as a 355ml. can of Coca-Cola.

Crush soda (355ml.) has more calories than Coca-Cola (1L.), Pepsi (355ml.) and a 7Up(1L.)!!

This is fun and eye opening!

Things You Should Know

The more calories usually says that the soda has more sodium and sugar in it as well. For example: A 1L. 7up has less sugar and sodium in it than a 355ml. 7up.

The amount of soda in a bottle/can does not mean that the biggest bottle with the biggest amount is the most unhealthy.

We should really take a closer look at the back of every soda bottle/can before jumping to the conclusion that one is healthier than the other. This also goes for every single product out there as well.

Products can be deceiving and we deceive ourselves and our health by continually making assumptions without taking a closer look at what is in front of us.

There are many easy ways to lower your calorie intake when it comes to soda, other than just quitting drinking it overall. You can find these options here:
--> Ways to Lessen the Massive Calorie Intake

Less or Equal Calories

If you haven't noticed from the quizzes and polls, there seems to be the conclusion that either the 1L. bottle of soda has less/equal calories than a 355ml. can of soda. As of this, you would have to think that maybe drinking the 1L. bottle of soda would make a much better health choice over the 355ml. can of soda. Making that kind of change can somewhat be difficult as any human being with common sense would feel like an idiot for choosing a larger bottle of soda for health reasons. I would! That is the just the thing; image is everything and no matter whether something is healthier or not, people who care about their weight would rather go for the thing that looks appealingly healthy than the thing that looks more unappealing or than the thing that would bring too much attention and judgement to it (like "OMG, that is alot of soda!!). This is very common in our society, which is why we would rather eat healthy pizza that looks like regular pizza than something that looks inedible like rice cakes. People would rather eat the healthy pizza in disguise and the 355ml. can of soda.

But that is pure nonsense, in the sense that, honestly no matter what you buy, you are going to be judged. For eg. a person would most likely be judged for holding a 1L. bottle of soda in the supermarket line. They look at his/her size and the size of the bottle and would just assume the worst, versus the same person buying a snack bar would not be criticized for eating too much, but will be criticized for eating too little! Basically, what I am trying to say is that, "It does not matter what people think; what matters is you choosing the right healthy choices for yourself, for your own benefit".

So buying a 1L. bottle of soda is the right and best choice to have over a 355ml. can of soda. And, if anyone chooses to criticize, make them speechless and let them know that your bottle of soda is much healthier or equal to a can of soda. Maybe then they would learn a lesson not to judge too quickly and realize that looks in a product can be deceiving.

Lasts Longer

Rather than having 1-3 cans of soda a day, which would be equal to 140-420 calories, a 1L. bottle of soda minimizes the amount of calories you would drink in a day. A 1L. bottle of soda is actually equivalent to 2.8 (almost 3!) cans of soda!! So basically, a 1L. can of soda can save you 280+ calories when choosing to drink it over having 1-3 355ml. cans of soda!!

And, in addition to that, if you have never drunk a 1L. bottle of soda, you should know that it contains alot of soda in it. So much, that for some people it might take 1-2 days to actually finish it. This is especially great for someone who would usually drink one 355ml. can of soda per day as basically a 1L. bottle of soda will last them for up to 3 days!! So what this means is that if you drank a 1L. bottle of soda for up to 3 days instead having the usual 1-3 cans of soda a day, you would be saving 320 - 1,620 calories in that length of time!

Note: But this unfortunately comes with a catch. If you do not close the soda bottle when you are done with it, you will most likely end up losing the fizz and then the soda will end up being flat and useless. So remember to close your soda when you are not using it for your own benefit.

Another Conclusion? Well, somewhat...

What's your theory?

Why is a 355ml. can of soda more unhealthy than a 1l. bottle of soda that is MUCH bigger in size and quantity? What do you think is the reason? Is it a marketing scheme?
