Nothing more frustrating than building a web page full of unique quality content and no one can find it except for by it's individual URL. Pick out a couple keyword phrases most related to your web page and make them more search engine friendly. Search Engine Optimization is not a trick or strategy it is mainly just good web page construction, take advantage of your superior niche content, so it can be found in the search engines.

How to optimize your target keyword phrases. (on page optimization - seo tips)
Basic on page optimization is just good web page construction with yor topic or keyword phrases in mind. If one was to make a web page covering On Page SEO and what it is, one would consider optimizing for the keyword phrases such as on page search engine optimization(long tail easier to achieve), search engine optimization(target niche keyword phrase)and finally as you increase your content and add more pages you could consider targeting more competitive phrases such as SEO and SEO Tips The key is to target niche keyword phrases as you would target niche topics with your page content. Start out with your long tail phrases and shorten them as you build your content and add more pages becoming an authority on your topic.#1 Title Tag & Meta tags - be sure you have your keyword phrases in the title, description and keyword tags. Google does'nt pay much attention to keyword tags anymore, but some of the smaller search engines (Squidoo tags) still do. You will not be penalized for adding it and we want smaller engine traffic too. In a Squidoo lens your title tag would be the lens title, the description is the introduction module and the keywords & keyword phrases are the tags.
Our target keyword phrases for this lens in Squidoo will be "on page search engine optimization", achieved #1 in Squidoo second day of lens creation, "search engine optimization" and bonus short phrases will be "search engine" and "seo tips" as our content and authority build.
#2 Keyword Phrases
Sprinkle your keyword phrases through out the page in a natural manner, top, middle, bottom. If your content is truly about your keyword phrases, this should be no problem. Don't over use your keywords, this is spamming, make it natural. But, if you do not have the keyword phrases in the top, bottom, or middle of the page, change the words that refer to them (such as "it", "the", "our service", ect, to the actual keyword phrase.
Optimize your headers and images for the search engines.
Other on page factors one can consider to make their web page more search engine friendly, are making use of headings and optimizing page images.Headings H1 H2 H3
(Heading tags are used by some search engines to identify words which are more important than the rest of the page text. The theory is that headings will sum up the topic of the page, so they are counted as important keywords.) Get your most important key word phrases in a heading tag h1, h2, h3 ect. This is good web page design. The topic of your content and the most important keyword phrases are the same and you probably want them in a heading.(Squidoo SEO Tip) Most of the titles and sub titles in the Squidoo modules are h2 and h3 headings. The lens category is the H1 header. So, be sure and put your lens in proper category.
Web Page Images
Name your images and add appropriate attributes "ALT tags". People love images on web pages, so add plenty. Unless your topic demands super graphics, keep them lean, your web page will load up quicker. Be sure to name and describe your images with your content topic and keyword phrase in mind. I can't see why a webmaster would do this for an image of an "SEO Chart" ("img src="http://yourwebite.com/images/xxxyyyzzz.gif") Where as, this may be more descriptive and search engine friendly. ("img src="http://yourwebite.com/images/seo_chart.gif" alt="Search Engine Optimization Chart").
Keep your attributes "ALT tags" short and descriptive of the image. Don't put additional keyword phrases in the alt tag, this is spamming.

Link Text, Bolded, Italic and Quotes
Try to include your keyword phrases in the link text of your webpage. The link text is the hyperlinked text that anyone viewing your webpage will click on. You can also add a title attribute to the hypertext link, (move your cursor over the links below to see the title attribute). In a natural way, try to get your keyword phrases in bolded text, italics and quotes at least once. Make this appealing to the reader of your web page. More is not better here!
