A Torrent Rushes
Spitting on the Rocks
Soothing Sounds
After the Long Fall
The Mist
The Swollen River

A torrent rushes down the side
Of the mountain, tall, majestic
So downstream it will provide
For fauna, flora and domestic

The waterfall's a prism of hues
As hit by sunlight at all angles
Below it crashes, roils and spews
Brambles and brackens in tangles

Tall and slender like a bride's veil
Squat and random at the road's edge
Through the year, a constant detail
Or only a few weeks over a ledge

Years upon years a chasm is cut
As the river channels relentless
Tumultuous churning, carving ruts
Boulders washed; silt expressed

The power of the water, magnificent
Enough to turn the grand turbine
The grandeur, beauty to such extent
Can only be described as true divine

... A waterfall lets gravity take
The liquid torrent where it goes
... To populate the woodland lake
Meandering among the hills
