The Mattress, The Musical

In 2005, "Once Upon a Mattress" became a major motion picture. It starred celebs like Carol Burnett and Matthew Morrison (who was not yet as well-known as he is now.) The story is a musical version and twist on the story of "The Princess and the Pea."

This is one of my favorite musicals. It is filled with fun songs and great one-liners!

Lady Larken and Sir Harry are the two friends of Prince Dauntless. Both of them are members of the court and are anxious to see Dauntless married.

Fun Fact

Carol Burnett, who played Queen Aggravain in the 2005 movie, also played Princess Winnifred in the 1959 off-Broadway production, took it to Broadway, then in the 1964 TV movie.

    I wandered across this on tv a few years ago and stopped because I saw Zooey Deschanel, whom I love! Carol Burnett was a huge bonus, though!

    I saw this not too long ago on TV, it was a re-run of the TV show. I still laughed just as much as when I first saw it as a kid.
