One of a kind painted Easter Eggs

Ranked #4,191 in Arts & Design, #60,263 overall

I have painted Easter eggs of many kind

I have painted Easter eggs of many kind for years, from real shell eggs to wooden eggs.

Since I paint miniature paintings and small rocks I thought this would be another way for me to be creative.

I have made them to hang from a branch or tree or to be displayed on a stand. I have clients who purchased these eggs from many places in the world. I have painted pets and even Xmas themes for clients, they are all "one of a kind" and a pleasure to have painted...because of my other art involvements I have not had time to paint new ones in the past two years.

I accidentally cracked this egg shown after finishing the painting, you can see the crack in the image.

A bird image on an egg

type=text

This particular egg has two different images on each side, divided by top and bottom...One a little bird on a branch and flowers on the bottom...divided by a satin ribbon and a silver thread for hanging.

Chickens on an egg

type=text

This is the other side featuring a rooster and hen on the top side and the chicks on the bottom.

Horses featured on an egg

type=text

If you know my artwork then you know I specialize in horses, this one has two horses one on each side, with doves flying around the egg and tiny specks of glitter and a hanging silver string anchored with a pearl.

Easter themes

type=text

An Easter theme is displayed on these eggs. The egg on the left was made with gesso painted to give it texture and layed on its side for display, the middle is one of the egg I displayed on the top of this page, right side image was an idea taken from an antique plate the client wanted duplicated.

Horse Racing, Troikas and Wild Animals

also featured on my eggs.

type=text

Seen here are three eggs...on the left from top to bottom showing the image all the way around of Race Horses, second image is an egg actually made for Xmas, it's Saint Nickolas driving a Troika, the one on the right side has a Tiger, Gazelles and a Zebra...all these eggs were commissions.

Foals prancing in the Spring time...

type=text

This was a wooden egg I sold on eBay. It had two foals prancing in a Spring setting with bunnies and birds.

I got orders of wanting the same image but I will not duplicate, as I want "one of a kind" and they will never be the same.

Oprah Winfrey's two Cocker Spaniels

Solomon and Sophia

Oprah W eggs

This is one of two of my favorite eggs I have done, actually I did them twice because the first set got destroyed by a cleaning person.

This egg has a great deal of detail, from a Roman man riding a Horse statue, column, water fountain with a lion head, birds and landscape.

These eggs were commissioned for an Easter basket for OW's plane. The images on these eggs are Solomon and Sophia the two cocker spaniels belonging to Oprah...each egg has a different setting...I wish I had painted them on wood.

Solomon & Sophia country field

Here again Sophia and Solomon playing in a country field, with flowers, birds, butterflies and bunnies.

Unique Eggs painted

for my cousin in Germany

type=text

As I mentioned above, these eggs belong to my cousin Trixi...these eggs were done in felt tip pen by her friend as gifts for Easter in Germany.

How I paint my eggs

and what I use...

tweety painting eggs

I sometimes dye the egg a color or just use it white as is, and then draw out the image on the egg in pencil. I use Acrylic paints because it dries immediately. When finished, I seal the painted eggs with a clear acrylic sealer, I prefer a satin finish.

My brushes are inexpensive and very fine, including 00 brush for details.

If I add a string to a blown out egg, I will add it on with a small bead to anchor it. I prefer to use wood eggs or plastic, they don't break as easily.

I have embellished eggs with glitter and sequence or jewels, even ribbons, so there is so much one can so to make it different and one of a kind.
