Before you run off and click one of the banners or links, you might consider this...

Promoting an online business, no matter which method you use, ALWAYS comes down to a numbers game. You can spend thousands of dollars on advertising and get the same or worse results than if you used free advertising. That's the point of the entire OSI (One Step 4 Income) program...

We're all adults here. If you can't take rejection then you had better keep your day job and forget about building your own business. Because 9 out of 10 people in this line of work are pretenders. They say they want something but aren't willing to do what it takes to get it. And it doesn't matter what you say or do to try and change them... they aren't going to pay attention anyway.

This also holds true in sales offline as well. You might go weeks without making a sale, then one day make 5 or 6. It's just the nature of the beast.

The most successful marketers are the ones that never quit. They consistently send out their message day after day. Then, at the end of a year, they look back and realize that they built a pretty good business and income for themselves.

The hardest part is convincing people to stay FOCUSED, PATIENT, and PERSISTENT. If everyone did, we'd have a lot of millionaires walking around.

Unfortunately, most people want everything RIGHT NOW! They don't want to wait.

Self-made millionaires understand what it takes to earn money, that's why they're millionaires. If you were to study just about every person that has built wealth from scratch, you'd find that they all possessed the same qualities - focus, patience and persistence. They also work smart... not hard.

OSI was set up so all you have to do is work smart not hard. And if you can focus and be persistent doing your marketing task, and be patient enough to realize your results, you have the opportunity to make a very good income. If you continue to follow the plan, work smart (not hard) and invest your profits wisely, you will have no limits on what you can earn well into the future.

There's no guarantee that you'll be a millionaire, but possessing those qualities will get you very far.

Everything above applies to your referrals joining the core business. Most people aren't going to do what it takes to succeed. If most people did what it took to succeed, we'd have more millionaires than not.

Using the forum as an example, we have over 10,279 registered members (12/5/07) in OSI. The people that are really serious about their financial future will join the forum to get feed back, learn and contribute to the success of others. As of today, (12/5/07) there are 685 members registered in the forum. Less than 7%. What does that tell you?

Remember - a baseball player is very successful if he/she has a .300 batting average. That's only 3 hits every 10 times at bat. So how do you expect to find more than 3 out of 10 people that want to succeed?

Let's take this a little further. If OSI charged $500 or $1,000, how many people do you think you could sign up? Probably not many, if any.

All you can do is play the percentages and be persistent. It won't happen overnight, but over time you will be glad you stayed focused and didn't give up.

It only takes 30 serious referrals to make you over $50 to $100K (US) per year if you follow the plan. So the bar is very reachable.

12/5/07 - As you may or may not know, many people venturing online in search of money-making opportunities are joining everything in sight. That's not necessary with ONE STEP 4 INCOME. All together there are seven businesses that you join one at a time. Should be enough for anyone, don't you think?

Quitting Gets You Nowhere and Why Winners Never Quit 

Here's a story I like to tell that sums up what I'm saying...

You may or may not have heard of Bill Britt, one of the most successful distributors in Amway.

Some years ago, 20/20 did a feature story on Amway. In typical hit-journalism fashion, they spent 19 minutes interviewing the whiners and complainers -- several distributors who had failed and showed their garages full of products they couldn't sell.

During the last minute of the show, Mr. Britt was interviewed in front of his palatial home. He was asked, "Mr. Britt, this business has obviously worked for you. What's your secret?"

Bill Britt replied...

"There is no secret. I simply showed the plan to 1200 people. 900 said, 'No.' and only 300 signed up. Out of those 300, only 85 did anything at all. Out of those 85 only 35 were serious, and out of those 35, 11 made me a millionaire."

I'm no different than you, if I can do it - there is NO reason that you can't do it. I know that sounds like an overused cliché, but in this case it's true.

On top of that, I believe One Step 4 Income is light-years ahead of Amway when it comes to marketability and being duplicable.

The Continuing Saga of My Growing Downline 

People from all walks of life, all over the world, are joining One Step 4 Income

I thought it would be a good idea to give everyone
regular updates on my growing downline. Now, I have
"dabbled" in network marketing about six to eight times over the past fifteen years or so, and this is the FIRST time I've had a downline. How about that?! How much easier can it get?!

So, what are the current stats, you may be asking? Two OSI members joined yesterday and today (11/26/07) and became the 62nd and 63rd members since I signed up on August 8, 2007. Being 110 days ago, that's about 4 members every 7 days. Things are starting to slow down a bit because of the holidays. (But you won't see me slowing down!)

Granted, not every person is going to give it her, or his, best. There are going to be a LOT of pretenders and wannabes signing up. If most people did what it took to be successful, we have a wealthy population walking around.

It is estimated that out of 20 people who join the OSI program, only one, or 5%, will enter the first, or core, business, which is the "New Plan Network". (Please see A Reality Check) below.

A Reality Check - One Step 4 Income And Beyond 

Just how far would you go to be financially independent?

I have some good news and some bad news, which do you want first? Bad news? Okay...

Out of the 59 (11/3/07) members who signed up for One Step 4 Income since I started on August 8th, 17 are listed as "Not Active" in my back office (plus 2 who has already been deleted, for a total of 19). A "Not Active" member is someone who has not joined the first, or core, business in the OSI program within the first 45 days. If anyone remains on the "Not Active" status for more than 10 days, the administrator can remove him/her from the program. They are not serious about changing their lives. They have the "LOTTO" mentality. Spend a buck, reap a million.

How many of the 40 remaining, active OSI members are really serious? Only time will tell.

I'm leaving the stats for "...My Growing... Downline..." above as they are, just to show how well the OSI program works. One Step 4 Income was created so anyone can start a business with no money. If you have a little money to invest in promoting OSI, then you can move along a little faster.

Also keep in mind, for those that are new to network marketing, that it is the number of members in your team that you personally sponsor that earns you the income your looking for. If you have 100 in your organization, and only referred 10, you might call that an allowance. But if you personally sponsored 50 (or more), and they followed you into all seven businesses...well, you'd be making more money than you ever thought possible.

The good news? As of today (10/27/07), three OSI members are now NPN distributors and one other is waiting in the wings. That's 7.2% of the total that has signed up in my OSI downline. When you have a few serious members in your organization, that's when you start to see growth happening.

Getting To "Success!" With An Online Business and One Step 4 Income 

You need a plan and we have one for you!

My first recommendation for your success with ANY business endeavor, be it online or offline, is simply this: you're going to have to do what most people refuse to do.

The great mass of humanity who would like to have more money will not incorporate the habits necessary to cultivate the garden that produces it.

When people ask how they can succeed with an online business, they usually want to know why it feels as if some people are making a million dollars overnight while others are struggling to see their very first dollar.

The Real Truth About MLM And Network Marketing

Let me tell you the truth about MLM (Multi Level Marketing) and network marketing-- most people who get involved in the business fail at it. The common figures tossed about on the Internet these days say that 95% of the people involved in MLM fail. I will argue that figure later, but for now, let's just say maybe 9 out of every 10 people in network marketing will fail.

There are many reasons people fail in MLM. They may have gotten involved in a bad company with a poor compensation plan. The products may not be top quality or anything special, so there is no demand for them. They may have received little training, poor training, or even no training at all. They might have been abandoned by their sponsor. They may have had the wrong expectations-- thinking that the money will come pouring in without any effort on their part. But the biggest reason for MLM and network marketing failure is giving up!

On the other hand, compare this to traditional entrepreneurship, which has its problems, too. I am a college business professor, and I've had traditional businesses of my own, so I know the odds of success in starting up a traditional business are that 9 out of 10 new business will fail the first year. And then there is another 4 in 5 chance that those businesses who survived the first year will fail to make it to the fifth year.

Wow, when you consider the amount of money spent and/or borrowed to get those businesses running, that's pretty scary! Add to that the time involved in running a small business. Often people put in 60+ hours a week, for less income than a job would give them. I've often seen dreamers who started their own traditional business find themselves crashing and burning with reality as they lost their credit, their homes, and in some cases marriages and families. Ouch!

I believe in entrepreneurship! I believe in the dream of having your own business-- no boss, no time card. Freedom to set your own hours, work where you want, live where you want, spend time with your family, travel and take time off whenever you want. Freedom. That's what its all about! And it's not traditional business that brings this freedom, it's network marketing.

I'll take the odds in MLM and network marketing any day! I'll tell you why. If the 95% failure figure is correct, then it's including all the people who just sign up to try the product, or decide for whatever reason they don't want to work the business.

The truth is, for those who really want to work at this business, 95% of all people who stay with their network marketing company for 10 years will reach the highest level of their company's compensation plan, which is usually at least $500,000 annually. And the income needed to start and run a network marketing business is nominal compared to a traditional business!

I'll take those odds any day! You see, all you need to do is:

1) Find the best network marketing company you can.
2) Commit to learning and working your business.
3) And don't quit.

Success in MLM and network marketing is a choice. Choose to do it!
