There is a lot of advice on the internet at the moment in dominating Page 1 of a search engine. Domination means holding the first ten positions on page 1 and many more positions on pages 2 - 3 and so on.
That will mean that a visitor searching for your keyword will go to one of your pages and eventually end up on your site.
To achieve any ranking on page 1 of a search engine you will need a site that contains relatively good content and value back links.
Value back links includes having a link from a site similar in topic to your own and the holy grail is to have the linking site that holds your link to have a high page rank, greater than 3 is better.
Well, how about a PAGE RANK 7 back link to your site that will automatically become viral over time boosting your site to NUMBER ONE on any search engine?

The technique I use was carried out at Scribd. This is basically a site where you upload documents, images, pdf's, word documents and video's.
I chose this site as many Web 2.0 sites now include a NO FOLLOW in their external links. Friendfeed and Twitter are such sites.
Here is my invitation link to my Scribd group that I started so you can see this in action. I do not expect anyone to join this group, unless you blog or write about women's hair style, but you will see how it all looks and works.

Now what you see here is an image. Brightens the place up. The major point to view here is the Documents listed in the page. This is where it all starts.

My point is, you do not have to start a group as it will look the same under your own profile. It's just you then who adds new content.

This Is How It Is Done
There are two ways that you can approach this. I personally used a pdf or Ewriter pro E-Book Creation Software.
The second way is to upload a Word document, but I found the links in this type of document did not show up. This defeated the purpose of getting the back link so I went with a pdf upload.
This is how I did it.
I went to my article site and copied those articles and inserted them into the E-Book software. With the software it has a tab NEW. This opens a page in the software where you paste your article. Another tab highlights the URL so it links. Tidy up the page with some styling and font changes, make sure it all fits neatly and press the pdf button.
The article is now saved as a pdf file.
The second way is to upload a Word document, but I found the links in this type of document did not show up. This defeated the purpose of getting the back link so I went with a pdf upload.

If it does cause concern then you can simply pdf your own unique content and point the url's to your pages. This would work wonders here on Squidoo. You can have a teaser one page pdf leading to your lens with links embedded through the pdf file.

There's One Thing I Forgot
When you have uploaded your pdf to your Scribd page and you have clicked on the pdf file you will see along the top a set of option buttons.
Go to edit and open this. You will see a list of options. What I did was filled them in properly and under the tab More Descriptions I put in the home page url in the section titled Source URL.
I then went to the next tab Display and I ticked the Book tab.
This seemed to activate all of the urls in the pdf document and made them clickable links from my Scribd page.

Conclusion
That is a pretty basic but quite comprehensive overview on how you can promote every page of your site and gain some very powerful high page rank backlinks to it.
It is very simple to use, very similar in style to uploading files here on Hubpages.
Don't abuse the service is one thing to remember. Use it by providing good content, something well written and of value.
Remember it is your upload page but you are allowing everyone to see, read and download your content. It is just another extension of an article site or You Tube where others can downlaod and reproduce your content.

Proof It Works
Well - some are hot on the emails - In response to one email request I have added the following screenshot of the Google results that depicts scribd will rank well for a chosen keyword.
You will also see the main site New hair styles for women well indexed at Position 4 surrounded by the articles I also wrote pointing to the site.
Thats four of my link pages in the top five spots on page 1 out of 283,000.
Now that's not bad in anyone's view. Please note that the Scribd entry came up within three hours.

Start To Dominate Page 1 of G
The following screen shot will display the search engine listing for a hubpage I wrote testing this and will support that dominating page 1 of a search engine actually works, if you know the blueprint.
As you can see the Hubpage holds Number 1 position. Number 2 position is held by docstoc and thanks to Leisa for this tip in the comments section. Number 3 is of course your routine Web 2.0 website promotion techniques.
This Hubpage holds positions 1 to 3 on page 1 of Google for a search term and to me that is pretty good. Less then 24-48 hours after this hubpage was posted and promoted. In the next few days I expect the other positions to quietly fill up with other Web 2.0 spots.
Why am I ecstatic about this stuff - You May Ask - Each click is 0.48 to 1.35. Sure the traffic is low but $2 to $4 a day is fine by me from one page.
I rest my case on page 1 total domination of a search engine. This works with any keyword or better still groups of keywords. If you get one keyword to the top then the rest, in time, will follow.
Its not showing off, you have seen the proof, its a basic plan of website pages or one page promotion.
Search Engine Domination
I probably should not speak too much about domination as it makes me sound like Dr Evil.
Anyway, I was going through and checking how the PR7 link strategy was working and came across Yahoo. I checked this at 10.30am on Wednesday 12 November 2008 Australian eastern time.
The search results returned 13.8 million competing sites on page 1 for the search term, no quotes, new hair styles for women.
The main site http://newhairstyleswomen.com held positions 1 and 2.
At position 4 was the Docstoc entry.
At position 6 was our Scribd.com entry.
At positions 7, 9 and 10 was my web 2.0 promotions.
So in total, the site has exposure in seven spots on Page 1 of Yahoo out of 13 million plus other sites.
As can be seen, by using a high PR back link to your site or promoting a page, you will get an entry on page 1. All these entries will give any visitor a good chance of coming to your promoted page eventually ending up on your site.

If you have read this far then I have a special treat for you. Since I wrote this lens I have been continually on the look out for new and faster ways to help my pages to the top of the search engines.

- Scribd is a place where you can store your pdf documents. Each of those documents contain links to your site or pages and are well indexed in search engines. Free to join, follow my tips and you will see some amazing results in your sites search engine ranking.
