You want to meet and attract quality online dates right? Of course you do, otherwise you wouldn't be here.

There are a lot of people that are not sincerely looking for relationships online. Some people just want some "easy prey" to have a one night stand with or develop some sort of friends with benefits arrangement. By attracting quality dates you will rule out those losers fast and efficiently without wasting a dime.

To attract quality dates online, your dating profile must fulfill some basic essentials. There is more to a dating profile than just slapping on a photo and writing a brief intro. You are competing with 100's of other locals. Channel in the right people to look at your profile and feel compelled to contact you.
I'm not going to get too much into this right now but a great book that details this is Absolute Beginner's Guide to Online Dating You think I am kidding right? No! This book was quite helpful in helping to make my profile stand out more.

Ladies, Are You Ready to Date Like A Man?
It sounds crazy to date like a man but it's pure genius. If you are a woman entering the dating world then you need to read this book, otherwise you are going to be left in the dark. Date Like A Man: What Men Know About Dating and Are Afraid You'll Find Out, is a MUST for single women looking to date. To be honest, when I first started reading this book I thought it was all just crazy. I thought "Nuh uh, no way. I can't do this". Then as I got further into it, the light turned on and everything made sense. I implemented the suggestions and met some really nice men and a few actually turned into best friends.

The notorious faceless profile
No photo means they are unattractive, probably married and seeking an affair, older than their profile says or heavier than their profile says. Very rarely will this actually be a person of high status that needs to hide his identity in order to protect his assets, so don't fall for it. (I actually dated a reality TV star for several months through an online dating site and he did have a photo up but I didn't recognize him. lol)

If a profile has no photo don't bother or ask for a photo immediately.

Mr. the future's so bright I gotta wear shades
These men tend to have every single photo of them with a pair of sunglasses on. This usually means they think they are more attractive with sunglasses ON or again are trying to hide their identity from perhaps people recognizing them as a married person looking for a little side business.

I don't cheat
Any person who has to advertise that they do not cheat most likely CHEATS. If they didn't cheat, why the need to throw that out there right from the get go.

I don't need any drama!
This person is full of drama. Same reason as above. We weren't thinking that you were a drama-mama until you said this.

Half naked body pictures
Unless you are looking for a "casual" relationship I would bypass this profile too. someone who feels it is appropriate to put up half naked photos of them on the web obviously want to attract the attention of many. they are objectifying their bodies and not respecting their self.

Oh and you ladies thought I wasn't including you and your cleavage all popping out didn't you? That's a no-no. Any respectable woman who wants to attract a quality man can attract a man by presenting herself sexy in a tasteful manner. Sexy doesn't mean trashy. Flaunt what your mama gave you with taste and dignity!

Know your fashion eras
Unfortunately many people see themselves as not changing that much looks-wise in the past year, two years or even 10 years. They will post old photos to try to pass off a much more youthful appearance.

But I am gonna tell you the secret to finding out the true age. Look at the clothing they are wearing. Are they sporting shoulder-pad tops and high bangs from the 90's? Hairstyles are usually the number one giveaway unless they purposely shaved their head bald, then you have to go by clothing worn in the photo.


Photos with the opposite sex
We don't care if that is your sister, mother or best friend. If you have photos with girls in your dating profile you are telling us that you are a womanizer and not looking for anything but a fling.

Same for you ladies. Do not feature photos of you and the opposite sex.
Save those photos for your myspace not a dating site.



Faces cut out or blacked out
Don't be lazy. Show some effort. Take some new photos of yourself to display, there is no need to display old photos of you and your ex-girlfriend or ex-wife.(I have seen one man's profile with a photo of him and his ex-wife's face cut-out as his main picture. That is just silly)


WRITING IN CAPS
These people are lazy. If he's "shouting" online now there is probably more shouting to come.

I like to drink and hang out with my boys
Nuh-uh. Don't bother with this loser. Just click "Next".

If they are bragging about how good he/she is in bed
These profiles have to be nexted as quick as possible. There is only two explanations for this: they are really, really bad or they probably just want to get into your pants and not so much your life. Look at the relationship status
More and more married people are entering dating sites because they are unhappily married. Avoid profiles that list their relationship status as: separated, seeing someone or married.

Yes, I include separated people in the group of people to avoid in the dating world. You must be asking why? The answer is simple. A person who is separated needs to get their crap together! They could be in the middle of a nasty divorce. You do not want any of that drama! Trust me.

The other thing about a separated partner is at any point he/she could just decide that it is easier to return to the comfort of an ex and get back together with them. Just save yourself some heartache by not getting involved with them.

Dead-beat parents
My biggest pet-peeve with dead-beat parents is when they list whether or not they have children as: "I'll tell you later or I prefer not to say". The answer isn't rocket science it should be a no brainer answer of Yes or No! It's not hard. If someone doesn't give a straight answer on their parental status then move on! NEXT!

1.) They have recent photos (less than 6 months old) which include, a headshot of them smiling, a full bodyshot and some other candid shots that show things they enjoy doing. (All which should be clear and and in focus.)

2.) A few paragraphs describing not only what they like to do and who they are but what they are seeking.

3.) Good punctuation and grammar.
