In the diagnosis field, there are many online medical degree programs that will enable a graduate to prepare for a career in a diagnosis area, like ultrasound technician. In order to become an ultrasound technician, a student must first complete a two-year associate degree in a health care related field, like medical assisting or health information technology. Both of these degrees are available from online schools. Once a person completes a two-year AAS degree from an online school, they can then enroll in a clinical program that will allow them to take the certification test to become an ultrasound technician.

Students who are interested in direct patient care and treatment in clinics and hospitals may want to consider an online degree in nursing or medical assisting. Although many of these programs require a clinical training portion, the academic portions of these programs can be completed in online degree programs.
