Scams, Their Everywhere.

Upon surfing the internet one can never know if they are investing in a positive service, or just having someone grab their money and run. I am dedicating this lens to lending advice to some online scams out there. Being on Squidoo, or just surfing the internet for "Online Scams," you have probably recently been lured by an offer online "GET PAID TO TAKE SURVEYS ONLINE!!!" or "Frederico made $32,231.00 Last Month, Find Out How You Can Too!" You visit their site to find a very flashy colorful page equipped with lots of text, videos, and testimonials about how a certain product changed a certain person's life. All I know is that, when I am to the point of making "$32,231.00" a month, how I did it will be my secret and nothing that I would outline in an ebook and sell for 50 bucks a pop.

The internet is ever growing, and so is the realization that "High Volume Traffic = High Profits." I could be selling some random product, lets say "Koala Bear Shampoo" that is really not much use to many people, but if I can manage to push millions of visitors through my site, I can make a healthy chunk of change just through the laws of probability. Now, if I had a product that promised financial freedom, or something that EVERYONE WANTS... you get the picture.

It's a dangerous cyber-world out there but there are a few steps that I suggest one to take to protect themselves from such scams.

1. Follow Your Gut: If something seems too good to be true, it probably is. If you visit a website offering a fast, easy, no effort way to make money online, take a pass. They offer an ebook and possibly a "FREE MONEY MAKING WEBSITE!" for anyone willing to pay their fee. Don't get be wrong, there ARE several very profitable ways to earn money online, but no sure fire way to overnight wealth. Squidoo is one of those ways to earn online, while having fun building websites at no cost to you.

2. Beware Of Sites That Say "SCAM REVEALED," which get you to click them, then take you to a review that actually talks about how the product is not actually a scam. This is the oldest online marketing tip in the book, to instill fear. They assume that you saw the website for the product somewhere, then went back to Google and typed "XXXXXX-product Review," when their site comes up on the first page of Google with a title labeling it as a scam of course you're gunna click on it. It will take you to a web page "Single Mom Reviews Work At Home Program-XXXXXX" At the bottom of the page, and probably throughout the page there will be several embedded links to the "Reviewer's" affiliate account with that company. If you want a real review of the product find a forum about it, ask a REAL person who has actually tried it, that isn't pushing affiliate links in your face. As you can see, my lens will have nothing but content and pictures, no affiliate links, nothing. I am here to share what I have learned, and hopefully give some spammers less business.

3.Any ebook you purchase online will most likely contain information that you can dig up on your own if you know where to look. There are some staple methods of online earning that are outlined in several articles, forums, and such online if you search for the right things.

4. Oh yes, one tactic I find useful is to create an email adress on Gmail or Yahoomail, or whatever, and go to one of these sites and enter the info in. Most likely there will be a box on the site saying "Enter Your Name And Email For My Free Scam Review Ebook, I Promise Not To Spam You." Go ahead and enter the new email in there, wait a couple days and see how many messages from that person are in your inbox, and notice the lack of free ebook...

5.If you have personally tried a product online and found it to be very useful, please leave a comment. Don't get me wrong, there are most likely some great products out there that can save you some killer time setting up websites, or just educating you on the world of online earnings. So, if you know of one leave a comment. I have been wanting to do this lens for a while now, and have finally gotten around to it, its a little jumbled up right now, I will work at making it more concise and organized for your reading pleasure, so keep checking back. Thanks,

-Jake

P.S. For now I am just going to post up some free articles I found online on some relevant topics.
