New Store Site for Online Shoppers and Sellers

Atomic Mall is a relative newcomer to the onslaught of new internet storefront sites for sellers, but it is different and I personally love it. It is so easy to set up a store there, that you can literally have a storefront ready to go within about 10 minutes of your time. It opened to the public on July 1 2008, so it is still a newbie, but one that I think has very good potential.
I am going to concentrate this lens on the Gold Membership, since that is what I signed up for. Basically that entitles me to a free storefront that I can list up to 2000 items in without having to pay any listing fees or any monthly fee on the store. What a deal. No listing fees at all for regular listing, if you do not sell it, there is no charge. There are some listing enhancements offered that do involve a charge, they offer 3 listing upgrade options at 20¢ per listing, or choose all 3 for 50¢ There are Final Value Fees, which can range from a flat 20 cents for items $3.50 and under, all others are figured on a % with 6% being the highest.
There are other levels of membership available if you have a larger inventory, Mercury covers 2000 to 4000 items and is only $5 a month, Cobalt covers 8000 to 15000 items and is a mere $10 monthly, and over 15000 is Uranium at $19 a month.

I signed up on Atomic Mall 9-07-2008, and though I do not remember the exact number of members at that time it was under 400. Well as I write this on 11-28-2008 it is now at 3518, and the inventory numbers are growing in leaps and bounds also.
I listed my first items a couple of days after joining I think and have had 2 sales. That may not seem like much to some of you, but you also have to remember that I have done hardly any promoting of my store, and add to that the fact that this is basically a new site, I think 2 sales are great. Another seller was just saying that they have had 53 sales in 1 month there. I have tried other sites that have so far produced no results and so very few "hits" on my items. Atomic mall has great coverage in Google searches so you will (or should) get hits on your items.

But the best part about my store on Atomic Mall is the feeling of it being MY STORE that I can set up and run the way that fits my business, not having to fit my business to someone else's business model. When I list an item, I do not worry about being in "trouble" for using the wrong word in a title or listing an item that might be against the "rule" that seems to change from day to day. Also I can add google checkout to my pay options, along with a personal check or money order if I choose to and not be told that I have to accept Paypal only.

If you are truly serious about selling online and making a full time business out of it, you have to put your inventory in as many places as you can, and this is a risk free venue. No listing fees or monthly fees for a store are HUGE in the online selling world. So take a chance and open a store front, upload some inventory. You never know until you try.

Once you sign up to open a store, if you sign up with a PayPal account, they will ask for a $10 advance to set up an account for you. They only ask you for this deposit into your account IF you choose to have your fees paid with paypal. If you select a credit card, they do not charge you that fee. The paypal fee is because they can not just go into your paypal account to take money for your fees, therefore they ask that you prepay it. BUT no prepay if you use a credit card.
And this is not a charge, it is an account that will be used to draw your Final Value Fees from. For example when I have a sale, they send the whole collected amount to my account that I set up to get paid, such as my PayPal. Then they subtract the fees from my $10 account that they set up. There are no other charges. Final Value Fees and if you use the listing options that I mentioned earlier which they charge for are the only ones with a Gold Membership.
