I started playing this game over a year ago. It is a very entertaining totally addictive turn-based online war game.

NukeZone is a strategic text-based game played on the internet directly through any browser - no downloads are necessary, (which is quite handy).

Featuring real-time team-orientated gaming, NukeZone can also be played as an individual. But don't do it like that, it's too lonely and boring that way!

Your goal? Build your province into an international Nuclear power and destroy all opposition along the way with your army of air, sea and ground forces. I guess the main appeal for this game is the camaraderie that you develop with your fellow clan mates. We help each other out with "AID" or spy reports on the enemies. There is peer pressure to perform. You gain POINTS for your clan when you successfully attack someone from an enemy clan.

If you don't make a lot of points for your clan, you can be "kicked" out! Some clans are very easy-going, some are strict and harsh. Mine is kind of in between those two extremes. We sort of do our "own thing," but we do watch out for each other, but we have to be "cold-blooded" with the LAZY types!

This is really a "thinking" game, NO fancy graphics, or shoot em up videos! You can take your sweet time to make all of your decisions. You will even find that a calculator is quite handy to assist you.

Often I find myself thinking ahead about some strategy, even when I'm NOT online -uh oh-!

Give it a try, I dare you. Don't be intimidated by the more experienced players --> there is protection for you! The big bad mean ugly guys (and gals) are NOT allowed to attack you. There are "net worth limits" in place, so that anyone too big or too small (in relation to you) cannot attack you. Also, at the beginning, you are under total "nuke protection" so that you have a chance to develop your research and to build up defenses.

It actually doesn't matter if you start late in the round, because you are always protected when you begin. You can even start your OWN clan --WOW--!

You die when you have no buildings left. Even if you still have a vast army, no buildings means you're DEAD for 24 hours and back in Nuke Protection with ALL your army and investment GONE! OH NO, how horrible! Of course, buildings do much more than keep you alive; defensive buildings help repel attacks, war buildings allow you to build and store your army units and there are others to help you build your province and improve your capabilities.

At least give it a try!

ROUND 28 Changes List

Welcome to Round 28. We wish all of you a successful and exciting round. The following adjustments and changes have been made for your enjoyment. Additional changes will be made during the round.

Changes / Additions

* "All Clan Mates" and "All CL/CTs" messaging options will now send a copy of the message to your inbox.
* Super Clan Bonus removed.
* Clan Bonus changed to 150 turns and $750,000 per clan member (money is no longer divided).
* Mini Clan Bonus and Mega Clan Bonuses are still half the size and twice the size of the regular Clan Bonus.
* Mini Clan Bonus is awarded for 2,500 clan points (lowered from 5,000).
* Regular Clan Bonus is awarded for every 5,000 clan points when having less than 100,000 clan points (lowered from every 10,000) and for every 10,000 clan points when having 100,000 or more clan points.
* Mega Clan Bonus is awarded for every 50,000 clan points (lowered from every 100,000).
* Spy Reports are no longer auto deleted after 7 days.
* Two new community score breakdown groups added: "Speed Round participation" and "Speed Round medals and clan top lists".
* 100 community score is now awarded when participating in a Speed Round (score has been awarded for all previous Speed Rounds).
* 100/50/25 community score is now awarded for top 3 clans for each clan top list for the Speed Round.
* Clan Award added: Golden Growth for first clan to reach $25mil networth and keep it for 48 hours (no joins within last 72 hours).
* Stealth Boats now have a life of 55 (decreased from 60).
* F-35 JSFs now cost $775 (decreased from $800).
* F/A-18 Super Hornets now have a life of 25 (increased from 20).
* Humvees now have an attack of 50 (decreased from 60).
* Hover Tanks now have a life of 25 (increased from 20).
* New infantry added: Rocket Soldier. Cost: $525, Attack: 25, Life: 25, Can Attack: Air Units, Vehicles and Buildings.
* Grenade Soldiers now have a price/attack/life of $350/25/15 (changed from $425/35/10).
* Grenade Soldiers can now attack: Vehicles and Buildings (changed from Vehicles only).
* Navy Seals now cost $500 (decreased from $900).
* Navy Seals can now attack: Sea Units only (changed from Sea Units and Buildings).
* Machine Gunners can now attack: Infantries and Buildings (changed from Infantries only).
* Heavy Infantries now have a price/attack/life of $425/25/20 (increased from $400/20/15).
* Heavy Infantries can now attack: Air Units and Sea Units (changed from Air Units, Infantries and Buildings).
* Tomahawk Missiles have been removed.
* CH-46 Sea Knights have been removed.
* Market prices have been increased to 3x original price (from 2.5x).
* Polls have been added to the clan forums for Gold/Platinum Clans. Only the CL, CO and CT's will be able to create polls. All members may view the detailed poll results.

As a clan leader, you tend to get many messages from other provinces. The comment that made the biggest impact on me was when a player made a copy of an attack that was a mistake made by one of our players. He said, "This just proves that you guys aren't good. You guys are just a bunch of active n00bs". Also, I read some comments in the NukeZone forum and again, there were players who said that they aren't that good. They are just active.

This statement got me thinking about how involved NukeZone is. There is much to learn at so many levels. Nuke Zone has many great players who know and calculate exactly what are the best attacks for each unit in every situation. They know which targets are the best to thieve. They know how to coordinate drop boosts and raids. They know how to calculate exactly what to research and how many labs you need in order to maximize time, money and turns. I can continue with all the strategies and tactics these players know and use. With all this said, and I don't want to minimize its value, nothing replaces activity.

Activity is an emotional asset that math, statistics and genius can't replace. You may be able to get a couple more points per attack, but if you can get a player to attack one more time, then that outweighs the 2 extra points. So, our main goal for round 26 was to keep our clan mates active, excited and motivated for 70+ days. Simply speaking we did many things to have fun and add to the overall entertainment for our clan. Players would look forward to getting up between sleeping hours.

We started planning our strategy last round. Our strategy was built around our players and their personalities. We have an independent group of players so having too much structure would be detrimental for the clan. As a result, we knew we couldn't organize raids and drop boosts. Also, we knew we couldn't be extra strict on networth cap and exact unit types. We decided rather than to change them, we would take advantage of what they do best. With that in mind, we knew we wanted to do little research and low networth. Also, our clan leaders had to constantly find new wars so that we would always have 3 wars going and trying our best to find a new war every 24 hours. Knowing this, it doesn't take a mathematician to determine that we would be declaring against many of the same clans multiple times throughout the round. (If you were one of those clans..sorry..it wasn't personal.)

We also decided early since our networth was low and our units were not building killers, that we would want to avoid mutual wars and stay out of range of the top high networth clans. Many experts told us, "You can't get enough points to win the GOLD at the lower networth level. It has never been done before and will never happen". We knew what "fit" our clan members best and kept to the original strategy. We also realized early that we were the only very active low networth clan and it would be hard for the others to declare against us. They would most likely battle it out between themselves. They did.

Finally, we run our clan more like a democracy and not a dictatorship. Our leaders all discuss our issues and plans and backup plans. After listening to each other, we would go with a plan and everyone including those who disagreed, would support that plan to make it work. We always welcomed our non leaders input and would always consider their ideas.

We do have some strong players on our team also and a very good management team, but we don't mind being thought of as "Just a Bunch of Active N00bs"
