With The Internet, Who Needs Television?

Okay, so maybe a few of us do, but have you ever caught yourself watching videos on YouTube or other video sites and realized you had been doing so for at least an hour?

Guilty as charged, but there's really some entertaining videos out there and this lens is all about those. And, well, a few of my own as well.

Online Video Link List

First, what are the major video sites out there?
YouTube
Of course.
Metacafe
Metacafe is one of the leaders in online video. After YouTube that is. Metacafe is unique in that it allows its top video creators to earn cash for their content.
Revver
Revver is also another site that lets its users earn cash, though a bit more difficultly some might say. They are supposed to be introducing a new CPM program, though.
Break
Comprised mostly of funny and stunt videos, Break is infamous for its "Oooh, that's gotta hurt" type videos.
Associated Content
Associated Content is really just getting started in the online video game, but they're making strides to improve their selection of content.

Metacafe's Top Videos

Here are a few of Metacafe's top videos. Metacafe's not so easily categorized as far as what makes them popular.
Matrix Stunts
Some of these stunts in this video are unbelievable. It's easy to see why it's net the creator around $20,000. Yeah.
Robotic Beer Launcher
This video became so popular that David Letterman featured the inventor of this, er, launcher thing (?) on his show.

Remixed Movie Trailers

I'm not sure where it began exactly, but in the past few years, a popular trend has taken over online videos: remixed movie trailers. These little video projects, usually edited by fans of the film, take popular classic films (and sometimes not so classic) and completely change the tone and even plot of the film by reediting the trailer.

Youtulebrities

Yeah. I made up that word.

With the internet, anyone can get their 15 minutes of fame. If you're lucky, you can expand that into more. YouTube has its own brand of celebrity with new ones being "made" everyday.

Here's a few of the most popular's more prominent videos.
