Build relationships and they will stay

After being an entrepreneur for over 20 years the one thing that I have learned that has been crucial to my business success is the art of building relationships.Business isn't really about business per say its about the people who run the the business.

The online world is no different, and if you've been marketing online I'm sure you've heard this a million times.People are not attracted to your products or business opportunities they're attracted to YOU.So build those relationships my friend and you'll have customers and clients for ever.

The Foundation For Business Success

The foundation for success for any business is building relationships . The more relationships you build, the more avenues will open up for you. These can be potential new customers or potential new joint venture partners. Since more businesses are moving online, it is tougher to start and build new relationships. However, this doesn't change the fact that if you want to be a successful businessman, you have to network constantly.

The advent of web 2.0 has made it easier to overcome these barriers, but before you try to overcome them, you should know exactly who you're trying to network with. If you want to have a successful business, some of the people you need to network with are:

- Potential new customers.
- People who can put you in touch with potential new customers.
- Professionals who can provide you with services such as content writing, website building and custom programming.
- Other business people who can be potential partners in the future.
- Online marketing and online business professionals who can advice you and show examples of what they have done to succeed in their businesses.
- People who are interested in your product and will spread the word about it.

Building relationships with the above group of people will help you to advance your business. Now comes the million dollar question, can you really develop solid building relationships online ? The answer is yes, if you are smart about the way you do it.

It is hard to build a relationship with people online because all you know about them is what you read online. You don't really know them and you haven't meet them in person. You could be in the United States while they are living in another country. If you are going to build online relationships with people, you should keep a few things in mind.

- Find people who have similar values to you. Talk to them and find out their opinion about different issues.
- Find out if you have any friends in common with them and if you do, use them to find out more about the contact.
- Don't turn down contacts. If someone wants to talk to you, let them. However, if you find that the relation won't work out well for you, don't hesitate to let go of the contact.
- Don't get into any monetary transactions with people unless you know them well and have paperwork to back you up.
- Be patient. Good relations develop over time.
- Make yourself accessible so that the people you want to network with come to you. You shouldn't have to chase them. It is not worth your time to chase prospects. Make sure that you're easily reachable through social networking sites and a well optimized website with clear contact information.

The internet is a lot friendlier than you think. There are a lot of online businessmen like you who are looking for friendly people who will help them to grow their business. Learn how to attract network marketers to you, and make sure that you are accessible to them. If you follow these tips, over time, you will find that you're not only accessible but that you've built a big network of people online.
