Traisping around to factories to select product, waiting for goods to be delivered then having to unpack, sort, price and then display them was not fun. There were loading bay costs, a charge for allowing trucks to unload in the dock, telephone, electricity, insurance and theft dropped the profit line way down. At times I was working just to keep the shop open.

Aside from the general goods expected to be on display there were numerous calls for extras which would result in more stock, more outlay and more work. By the time I arrived home to my young family I was a wreck.

Never again would I go into a retail business and with that thought in mind it took me a long time to warm up to Internet trading. The difference, however, is astronomical and the rewards are way beyond expectations. That why I wrote this article

My first products went online in the mid 1990s. They were a couple of e-books which I had written on my research and I naturally thought everyone and his dog wanted to read them. How wrong can one be? Although I lacked any kind of Internet advertising skills and aside from sending messages to paid lists and using Traffic Exchange sites I failed to get the traffic.
