The ugly truth about making money online is.....it is not as easy as some people would have you believe. If it were that easy wouldn't we all be rich?
If you are looking for a free ride, for an easy way to make money with no effort on your part, or a way to get rich over night please look elsewhere. Such an opportunity does not exist (that I am aware of) and I can not teach you how to do that.
However, it is not terribly difficult either. On this site I am going to explain exactly what you need to do to make a lot of money in an online business of your own. I am also going to explain why most people do not actually make a lot of money and how you can be one of the few who do.

The Secret to Online Business Success
The secret to building a successful online business is simply this.....
It takes time, effort, and belief to build a successful online business!
Time:
You need to know one thing - there is no way to build a successful business fast. It takes time to build a successful business. If there were a way to get rich quick, without doing a lot of work, don't you think we would all be doing it?
How much time? That depends on a number of factors but you have to learn to earn $1 before you can earn $2. But, if you learn how to earn $1 and then keep doing that you will eventually earn $2. If you can earn $2 you keep doing those things, you can go on to earn $10. If you can earn $10, with just a little more effort you can earn $100, and then $1,000, and on and on.
Remember this, most difficult part of building any business is earning your first $100. After that everything gets easier and faster.
Effort:
You have to do something to make money. I used to mow lawns when I was a kid. If I cut lawns I made money. If I sat around and did nothing, dreaming of how wonderful it would be to have money, and I didn't mow any lawns.....I would earn nothing.
The good news is that anyone can learn the necessary steps to follow to make money online. I am going to explain those steps later in this article. Unfortunately, too many people want to mow 1 lawn and then have a steady stream of cash coming in. It just doesn't work that way.
If you were to mow 1 lawn each week you would earn a certain amount of money, but it is a fixed amount. If you mow 3 lawns a week you will earn more money but it is still a fixed amount. If those three people recommend your lawn mowing service to 3 other people because you did a good job, eventually you will have more work than you could accomplish by yourself. Then you will want/need to hire other people to mow lawns for you to get all the work done. You will earn less money per lawn but a lot more money overall.

If you keep that going for a while (time) you will one day find yourself being wealthy.....through the efforts of a lot of other people. And, the very same principal applies when building an online business.
Focus on one thing, work on your business a little bit each day, do it for a long enough period of time and wealth will surely follow. I will also show you some ways (in just a minute) to speed up the process.
Belief:
They say that 97% of the people who start an online business will never earn a profit.
In fact, I would say that 90% of people who start an online business have quit that business within 30 days and have moved on to the next get rich program.
I believe there are 10's of thousands of legitimate ways to make a lot of money online. Those programs do work - but not by themselves - you have to make them work.
So then, why do most people not earn a profit in any business they try? Some say it is because we all want to get rich quick and when "that doesn't work" we move on to something else - always looking for a get rich fast and easy program "that works."
That is probably true but I prefer to believe that it is because 97% of all people who try to start a business do not believe they will be successful. So, to ease the pain of failing, they actually prove themselves correct by failing. "I knew this wouldn't work." And somehow that makes them feel better. They knew they would fail and they were right!
To truly believe in yourself and your ability to build a successful business requires commitment and risk. The risk is that you might put everything you have into something and still fail.

But, when you change to believing you can be successful, and I mean really believing you can be successful, something magical happens. Your attitude improves. You focus improves. And you actually open the door to success.
If you ran 5 free ads a day, for any online program, and you did that for a long enough period of time - do you believe that eventually you would get at least 1 sale?
Most people would find this quite believable. They may not like how long it could take to get that 1 sale, but most people would truly believe that if they actually ran 5 ads a day for a long enough period of time they would eventually get 1 sale.
In the above paragraph you have the secret to building an online business it all it's glory.
Time - "for a long enough period of time"
Effort - "run 5 free ads per day"
Belief - "most people would find this quite believable"
Believe in your ability to make successful things happen. Pick one business and do the work required to be successful. Do those things, a little each day for as long as it takes to be successful.
That is THE secret to success.....in business, in sports, in any endeavor in life.
If any one of those three components are missing, you will fail.

The Online Business Success Model
Building an online business is pretty simple really:
1. Advertise your business to attract visitors to your sales page.
2. Some of those visitors will "get" the beauty of your offer and join.
3. Teach those people how to duplicate what you are doing so they can grow their business.
4. Mentor and motivate those people to help them get through the process without quitting when the going gets tough.
5. As your team members grow their business, you business will grow too!
If we don't advertise our business, nothing happens. In a few minutes I am going to point you to a page that lists a lot of my favorite places to run free advertising and paid advertising. You can build a business with totally free advertising. But, paid advertising works faster, if you can afford to run paid ads.
The more you advertise the more people will visit your web page where you can tell them about your business. A small percentage of the people who visit your web page will join your business opportunity. All you need to do is teach them to duplicate what you are doing and they will start to grow their business. As their business grows, you business will be growing too.
The unfortunate reality is that most of the people who join your business will not do very much to advertise their business, so they will not get very many visitors to their website's, they won't get many people to join under them, their business will not grow, and neither will yours.
I told you, you were not going to like what I had to say in all cases. But, this is reality. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. You can teach a person exactly what to advertise, where to advertise, and how to advertise, but, you can't make them actually do the advertising.
And those that do make an effort will find out quickly that it isn't quite as easy as just running a few ads and cashing the checks. I have run hundreds of ads that got no response at all. That was painful and people tend to avoid things that give them pain. But to build a successful online business you need to fight through the pain to get to the pleasure that comes from success.
That process can be much easier if you have someone to help you who cares about you and who is willing to hold your hand and walk you (drag you?) through the tough times.
To increase the chances for success for the people you attract you need to become a great coach and mentor. I can teach you, by example, how to become a great success coach. All you really need to do is make yourself available to your team members, share in their successes, and help them through the tough times.
Help them keep the prize in mind. Too often when we get down we lose sight of our original goal and we focus on all the negative parts of building a business. If you join my business building team and this happens to you I will listen to your problems for a while and I will empathize with you for a while. Then, I will try to find a way to get you to snap out of your negativity and re-focus your mind on your original goal of building a business, making a lot of money, and helping a lot other people do the same thing.

How to Write a Good Ad
We know that we need to advertise our business to be successful. So let's talk about how to write a good ad.
There are a lot of books and courses that can teach you how to write good ads far better than I can, but, I have learned a thing or two and here is what I recommend:
1. The headline is key
Your headline has to capture the attention of your reader, otherwise no one reads your ad and nothing happens.

Below are some ads that I use to attract the people I am looking for.
Note that my ads are fairly short, use a lot of white space, get to the point quickly, and refer the reader to another web page for details.
People do not want to read 1,000 lines of text to try and figure out if they are interested in what you have to offer.
I try to make my point quickly and let people decide if I can offer them something useful to them.
I have two objectives when I write an ad:
1. I want to discourage the 97% of people who want something for nothing.
2. To send the serious people to this article.
Everyone is looking for the information I make available in this article, but only 3% of those people will actually "get it" and use it.
So, I let people know up front that there is an investment in time, effort and money involved.
That is absolutely the best way to discourage the 97%.
It is also the very best way to attract the 3%.
People find it much easier to deal with small simple paragraphs.
That is also why I use a table of contents. People who land on my web pages can scan the table of contents, find what they are interested in, and go directly to that topic without having to dig through all the other stuff.

- Great point about the effort involved. I think a lot of people think that all you need to do in order to make money online is to hang up a shingle, but people fail to realize that an online business is a BUSINESS. It takes research and effort.
