Store Your Pool Toys and Help Increase Swimming Pool Safety

Wooden decks adjacent swimming pools are notorious for being slippery. With children getting in and out constantly, the pool deck can quickly become an ice skating rink. If the deck is also cluttered with multiple rafts, noodles, beach balls, ducks and float rings, the chance of slipping on the deck increases.
Many people choose to throw their toys over the side of the pool into the yard. The toys may be out of the way, but when the kids use them again, they bring grass and dirt back into the pool. An alternative to throwing the toys overboard is to somehow neatly store them near the swimming area.
If your deck is large, and you don't mind giving up deck space, products are available both locally and online. A bench seat with storage underneath or a container product, similar to a cooler, both allow for storage of smaller toys and accessories. Larger toys such as rafts and plastic boats require a different storage solution. Decorative netting is now being utilized to hold pool toys of all sizes. The advantages of using a net are many. They save precious deck space. They are attractive and convenient. They are available in many sizes to accommodate large and small families.

5 Easy Summer Craft Projects for Kids

1. Painting Rocks: Your kids will love staying outdoors in your garden or backyard busy painting rocks of garden stones. Supply them with acrylic paints and brushes and let them use their own creative ideas. They could either paint little objects and scenes on larger rocks or paint smaller stones in single or multi colors.
2. Photo Frames: Photo frames can be made and/or decorated in many different ways. Ask kids to choose their favorite summer photos to be framed and supply them with plain plastic or wooden frames. Now ask them to embellish each frame with a theme that matches the photograph. A picture taken on the beach can be displayed in a frame embellished with sand and seashells. A birthday photo can have a frame embellished with birthday clipart, cutouts or stickers.
3. Wrapping Paper: Let your kids make different types of wrapping for use throughout the year to wrap presents for their friends' and teachers' birthdays. Give them paint and different household supplies that create various patterns on paper. For e.g. sponge, cut vegetables, carved buttons, jar lids etc. They can also make and store some for Christmas.
4. Bead Crafts: Assorted beads in different colors, shapes and sizes make for interesting craft supplies. Kids can create themed jewelry, bead art, pins and little decorations by stringing beads on to wire and then bending wire to create shapes.
5. Playdough: Homemade playdough is one of the oldest and still the most effective of keeping kids busy. Give the kids a 'summer project' to complete before the day ends in which they can make a summer scene or a number of summer themed objects.
Giving these crafts a 'summer' theme will not only give the projects an interesting twist, but it will also make your kids enjoy the season and wait for it to arrive soon next year!

Action Figures Bridge the Gap between the Present and the Past

As a child I spent countless hours collecting and playing with action figures of all shapes, sizes, and characters. My favorite by far were my Star Wars action figures but I spent many hours playing with G. I. Joe, Transformers, Masters of the Universe. There are so many of them, and they were such a vital part of my childhood experience that I couldn't really begrudge my sons love of those very same things.His current collection is of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle%u2122 action figures. He is also starting a nice collection of matchbox cars, but he really loves his Ninja Turtles. For a while he was seriously interested in light sabers from Star Wars. I was so excited hoping I could share my old love for my Star Wars action figures with him, but his interest stopped at the light sabers and he never really got into those action figures that were once so special to me.
Ah well, I still have two daughters; perhaps one of them will love those as much as I once did. The real beauty of action figures is that you can keep them and share them with your children, you can sell them, or you can consider them as an investment. However you look at your action figure collection, don't underestimate the many hours of fun they can provide your children. The right set of action figures can ignite their imaginations and keep them occupied for endless hours on those rainy summer days.
If you wonder about whether or not action figures are good toys for children to have, think back to your childhood and how these action figures enabled you to use your imagination and creativity. Think of the endless hours of fun you had with these awesome toys and how you could share these toys with your friends and double the fun. I know that I feel any toy that helps children use their imaginations is a good toy for them to have.

When you build your very own RC car, there could be a lot of work to do but if you're in for a tight budget, this should do it. Ready-made cars is going to cost you probably more than what you have been assuming because, after all, it's already made, all it just needs is a little time for you to assemble. Not only that, if you build your RC model on your own, it would just mean you can carefully select the equipment and other important parts you want, gaining you extra satisfaction of a better RC model in the end.
Make sure that you have your tools needed for building your own model. You also have to read and understand everything that's in the manual before you begin. This is just to make sure that you don't miss anything and assemble one part on the wrong spot. Your building area will have to be very conducive for working which means you need a space for you and your kit alone. The parts of the kit are all important and losing one is the last thing you ever want to happen. So if you have kids and pets around the house, secure your kit and your work to make sure you don't lose anything untraceable.
But you also have to consider that building things like these doesn't happen in one go. Remember the saying "Rome wasn't built in a day", this might not be Rome but still, you wont be able to build a desired RC model immediately.
