Writing Jobs Explained.

Per article/Topic-Specific/Adsense

Writing jobs are everywhere: if you know how to find the legitimate ones.

Your best bet is to go with a site that pays you per article, per word, or per project. However, I also know of a few websites that will pay you to blog on certain topics, such as a new product. These sites usually require you to already have an established blog that gets traffic from search engines, such as Google and Yahoo.

Many websites allow you to blog, and then pay you based how on many ad clicks you get. These sites usually use Google Adsense to place relevant ads on your blog or page. When someone views your page and clicks on an ad, you get a certain percentage of the revenue earned by that click. The best way to generate ad clicks is to write high-quality articles based on popular topics. The most popular topics vary based on the site for which you're blogging. The more popular your content, the better chance you have of generating ad clicks.

Must-Haves for Online Writers.

Writing online is vastly different from, well, not writing online. There are certain tools all online writers need in order to maximize their potential for profit and exposure.
  • Google Adsense.
Adsense is a great way to earn revenue generated by ad clicks posted on your blog. Even if you don't belong to one of the ad click blogs listed above, signing up and adding Adsense to your blog page can increase traffic and profits.
  • Paypal.
This is easily the best way to send and receive payments online. Virtually everyone accepts it, and you never have to share your personal information with clients.
  • Technorati.
Technorati is a great way to generate traffic to your website. It's basically a huge search engine dedicated to blogs. Add your own and see how your traffic improves.

Great work! I write here on Squidoo and occasionally on Hubpages. So far, I like Squidoo much better, and it pays much more.

These are great suggestions and I like hearing from a pro. The only sites I have learned to trust and seem to value my writing are Associated Content, EduDeposit.com, and Demand Studios (although I have some issues with Demand at this point). Those are the three I've seen some money from and make me want to go back, all for different reasons. Anyway, I will check back! You really have it together for a 20-year old ;)
