What is On The Wards - Consumer Edition?
On The Wards (OTW) is a collection of medical information sites devoted to diverse topics related to medicine, medical education, and health care. It began in 2006 as a medical blog with the intended audience of both clinicians and the general public.
As the blog evolved, however, it had become increasingly difficult to write to a widespread group. Instead of creating two separate blogs, I decided to create a OTW "Consumer Edition" on the Squidoo platform to permit dissemination of health or medical information of greater interest to the non-medical public.
While these are the overarching themes of both the medical blog and the Squidoo lenses, the boundaries are not strictly defined. There will occasionally be blog posts that cater to the consumer public on the medical blog and clinician-focused lenses that appear on Squidoo.
