What you need to make your OWN Ooompa Loompa Costume

This will give you a way to put together your own great looking Ooompa Loompa Costume
- Brown Turtle Neck
- White Scrub Pants (hopefully a bit larger than needed)
- White Suspenders or White Ribbon
- White Gloves
- White First Aide Tape
- Face Paint (orange and white)
- Long Brown Socks or Brown Tights
- Optional - small features - Brown: light weight balls or small brown balloons, or large Pom Poms - any of these to be size of Tennis Balls (for on shoes)
- Brown Shoes
- Bag of Cotton Batting (like for stuffing pillows)
- Green Wig, or Blonde Wig with Green Hairspray, or just Green Hairspray if you want to spray your own hair ...
- Brown Felt Square - to be used for buttons

Brown Turtlenecks
Look for ones that have high necks and cuffs on arms. You will use medical tape/first aide tape to make the stripes at the collar and the wrists. Easy to put on tape, and you can use shirt again (be sure to remove tape before you wash).
Here are several options - but you can find any brown turtleneck - go for Chocolate Brown for best look!

White Scrub Pants
Buy your pants way too big if possible - to allow for the bumps on the legs ... You can use safety pins to bring it in at the waist and taper as well as to bring in at the bottom - you will fill a pocket on the sides of each leg to make the unique oompa loompa shape with cotton pillow filling. Use safety pins to define the shape and keep the filling where it belongs. You can also put filling in bags first to help keep in place.
Scrub Pants work GREAT for this, and are not usually too expensive. Plus sizes also help with the Bump Outs - even for little waists!

How Do I Make Stripes?
Tip - All stripes should be vertical, not horizontal.You will need to make stripes on the cuffs of the sleeves and the neck of the turtleneck, as well as on the socks.
- The socks stripes should go up and down on leg - not around leg
- The Cuff stripes should go from hand towards elbow, not around arm
- The neck stripes should go up and down on neck, not around neck.

Give your Oompa a Personality with Unique Green Wig
Use your creativity in picking out green wig ... The costume can be all the same, but add a green wig with attitude, and you put a whole other twist on the Oompa Loompa !
Would be kinda cool to have oompa loompas with different hairstyles, especially if going in a group to a party, or even in a play- have one with rocker hair or something ...
These wigs are often cheaper than the traditional Wonka shaped wig as well. So you might actually save a little going non traditional. Your Choice!

From The Dark Side Of The Factory
You can make a demented Oompa Loompa costume with an dark and evil twist. It'll be a little something unexpected.
White Gloves
You can go gloveless, but the Gloves do add an authentic looking touch to the costume ! I do suggest the gloves. If you do not like satin or fitted gloves, you may choose the stretch version which fits pretty much everyone.

To not miss a detail - note the whiteness of the eyebrows !

Suspenders
You will need that all important cross!
Can use purchased suspenders and wear with cross on belly, or also can use simple ribbon to make the same shape - Both should be Solid White of course.

Long Brown Socks
Authentic Oompa Loompa Striped socks have stripes Vertical (up and down) - but you can pull of the costume with Horizontal stripes on legs (side to side). Use white medical/first aide tape to make the white lines on brown socks!
Sexy Oompa Loompa ....

- I find thse Oompa Loompa costumes hilarious, am totaly gonna try one, though I'm sure this is more suitable for children due to their size, I'm gonna be a giant Oompa Loompa and no one will stop me!
