Original Pilipino Music OPM

It happened one holiday, when I want to legally download an old song that my cupcake long for. A Papuri (Praise) Tagalog song? Why no legal downloads yet? Yeah lah, I'm willing to pay, lah! Where's iTunes here! Can't they go on full global? Anyone? Any business minded music enthusiasts producers? Until one day (a year after, I think) there they are, locally. Ready to be grabbed, listened into, be in love again, have living-room-background for Grandma, for being bagets (young) again, to be danced for, and be sung even without a magic microphone.

The lens is all about Original Pilipino Music (and Video). The plot of chords, lyricists' inspiration, ballad behind, west-influenced-east and its beauty in its entirety. In English or in native tongue Tagalog, OPM captures every human heart and soul. Of course, Filipinos, who are world scattered, will definitely be the ones to benefit, correlate and reverberate the feelings culturally, globally.

OPM Pop-70s, 80s,90s , Classic, Disco, Rap, Soul, Papuri's Joni Villanueva  Dakilang Katapatan (Praise) and many more genre shall be showcased here bit by bit until it becomes an exhaustive informative growing collection. I hope you'll like it. Mabuhay!

OPM legal digi download? Sit back, relax, listen & watch music-videos

It's your choice. Have Fun.
1. FlipTunes . Here, you need to register, ready your credit/debit card, and select your songs. It's advisable: 1) to have DSL or higher speed conn. 2)have a list in mind (See bottom for some recommended songs and their genre and lyrics). The only drawback is that your selecting of songs aren't that user-friendly yet. You can have multiple windows open to solve this temporarily. A song is priced PHP40 (US$0.99). Not bad for Mom & Dad's anniversary song or for a song I sang when I did harana (courting-singing) to my girlfriend before. (And by the way, this is new, for Filipinos abroad, they can use also any local Phil ATM /debit card)

2. Go to mp3pilipinas.com. Not much of ths site yet but the price/song is cheaper.

3. If you're into indie music, then find out more about IndieCulture. Though it offers only CD format.
