POLL: Do You Read Oprah Book Club Books?
Do you prefer Kindle ebooks or regular paper books?
First came the paperback book, lighter than a hardbound version but still bulky and heavy to carry if you had a stack of them. Then came the Amazon Kindle ebook reader and carrying an entire library of books on a device weighing only a few ounces became a reality. Next came free Kindle reading apps that allow you to read your Kindle books, including Oprah Book Club books, on your PC, Mac, iPad, iPod, BlackBerry, or Android phone - no Kindle needed!

The 2006 Oprah Book Club Selection
Night (Oprah's Book Club)
Amazon Price: $4.38 (as of 06/04/2012)![]()
List Price: $9.95
In Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel's memoir Night, a scholarly, pious teenager is wracked with guilt at having survived the horror of the Holocaust and the genocidal campaign that consumed his family. His memories of the nightmare world of the death camps present him with an intolerable question: how can the God he once so fervently believed in have allowed these monstrous events to occur? There are no easy answers in this harrowing book, which probes life's essential riddles with the lucid anguish only great literature achieves. It marks the crucial first step in Wiesel's lifelong project to bear witness for those who died.

- I read, but I've no idea if I've read any Oprah-recommended books or not! Dickens, yes, but I didn't know she recommended it until I saw this lens.

- I used to read all the Oprah books when she first started the list. In fact, the first book she introduced is still one of my all time favorites.
Today (Dec. 6, 2010) when she announced her new selection, Oprah did say she would always love the paper books, but that the Kindle was the best thing for travel. I found that interesting.
