The keyboard Optimus Maximus is a small revolution because it integrates into each of its keys a mini OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) screen of 1 cm² for a resolution of 48 x 48 pixels. So could you display in your way a small icon or just a letter which will be associated thanks to the supplied software!

The peculiarity of this very brilliant keyboard running on OLED (the luminescent diodes consuming little energy) is to dispose more than hundred (113) of small screens, instead of inscriptions painted on keys. Concretely that means that the user cannot only configure "fantasy" customizable keys with animated icons of his choice (for example Firefox, ITunes, etc.) but also letters or the space bar to meet his desires.

My full review of this product

Here it is! The ULTIMATE keyboard everyone has been waiting for! Invented and designed by Art. Lebedev Studio, Moscow, Russia. Every key of the Optimus Maximus keyboard is a stand-alone color display showing the function it is currently associated with.

Optimus is equally good for any keyboard layout, Cyrillic, Ancient Greek, Georgian, Arabic, Quenya, hiragana and so on to infinity. Notes, numerals, special symbols, HTML codes, math functions, images are all possibilities with the Optimus Maximus!

Every display of 65 536 colors has a visible area of 10.1×10.1 mm, a resolution of 48×48 pixels, and a frame rate of at least 10 frames per second. Every button on the keyboard (or, more precisely, a module with a moving cap, a microchip and a display) is easy to remove in order to clean or replace.

Optimus Configurator software allows programming every button to reproduce a sequence of symbols and editing the image separately for each layout.

System Requirements:
PC with installed OS Windows XP or Vista, with a USB 1.1 (or better 2.0) port;
Mac OS X 10.4.8 or higher.
At least 20 MB of free space on hard drive.
At least 256 MB of RAM.">
