Who were Option 30?
A brief history, indeed.
Few remember the band Option 30. A resurgence in popularity is owed to fans of Trent Reznor for delving into the past to learn about one of his early bands. Classified as a New Wave, Option 30 never cracked the Top Ten. Drawing big crowds in Northwestern and Central Pennsylvania and Northern Ohio, they played a mix of original songs and covers by popular bands at the time.Other members of the band included TK Smith, Jim Nordstrom, and Todd Nero. After Trent Reznor departed to join The Innocent, the band continued to pay but eventually disbanded in 1986. During their existence a demo was recorded but shelved, only to find release in 1997. The original songs and covers are mixed between a radio interview conducted in 1984. It's extremely hard to find but is available on several bit-torrent sites.
