Oracle Card and Tarot Card Decks

Oracle card decks provide insight and positive outlooks for anyone who connects with them. Oracle cards are similar to Tarot card decks. Oracle cards and Tarot cards both come in the form of a deck of beautifully illustrated deck of cards with meanings relating to each individual card. The difference between an Oracle card deck and a Tarot card deck is that Oracle cards do not have suits or negative meanings as the Tarot may do.  Oracle card decks involve the power of positive thought and metaphysical beings such as angels, fairies, mermaids and unicorns.

Today you will find a large variety of Oracle Card decks or Tarot Card Decks. Both the Oracle or Tarot can give you guidence and insight to any situation or the furture.

There are so many different varieties of Oracle card decks or Tarot Card decks how do you choose the right one for you?

If you are drawn towards a deck or a certain type appeals to you or just jumps out at you then that is the deck for you at this time whether it is an oracle card deck or a tarot card deck. This is the deck that you should begin with. Over time as your development grows you may become drawn to other decks aswell.

I personally use 3 different decks of cards, 1 oracle card deck, 1 tarot card deck and 1 crystal card deck. I have used each deck for different purposes and in different stages of my own development.

Below I have gathered together a variety of different oracle card decks and tarot card decks for you to browse.

The picture you see here is from the Archangel Oracle Card Deck that I use.

Oracle Card and Tarot Card

The Basics Of Tarot
Tarot cards are unique, and used for the purpose of divination and problem solving. A Tarot deck consist of 78 cards, divided into two categories - the Major Arcana cards, and the Minor Arcana cards. There are 22 cards of the Major Arcana and 56 of the Minor Arcana. It is thought that Tarot originated in China, Egypt, or in India, though its origins are unknown. However, what is known is that the Tarot cards we know today, appeared in the late 14th century or early 15th century Italy.
Traditional Tarot
The tradition of tarot is estimated to be over five hundred years old with archetypal roots that can be traced back to almost two thousand years. The traditional tarot has given way to the modern methods of divination, but it still remains a reservoir of ancient wisdom. The traditional tarot decks are the source of origin of the modern playing cards.
Tarot Decks
Tarot deck is a set of cards, usually, seventy-eight in number, that contains cards divided according to their meanings. Some tarot decks may have a different number of cards, but seventy-eight cards are considered a standard number among contemporary decks. The Rider-Waite Tarot deck is one of the most popular decks in the world and is preferred by beginners and professionals alike. It is possible for Tarot students to design their own cards in accordance to the general meaning of the cards.
Tarot Cards as Alternative Therapy
Jung explains that tarot cards represent different archetypes of human personality and situations. The Death Card then is not just simplistically a dreary card foretelling iretractable death to the querent (person who asks questions in a tarot card reading). Rather, the death card can be seen as the death, an end of something inside us - a vice, long standing pain, bad habits, sorrow, signaling rebirth.

What a fabulous lens. I used to read tarot cards but for some reason I lost interest. Now I'm using them as writing prompts instead of a divination tool. The tarot decks you showcase here are beautiful.
