Orange County Choppers (OCC) is a custom motorcycle manufacturer founded by Paul Teutul, Sr. and Paul Teutul, Jr. in 1999. The company is featured on American Chopper, a reality TV show that debuted in September 2002 on the Discovery Channel, which has contributed to the company's quick rise to fame. In 2007, Discovery Channel's sister channel TLC took over the broadcasting.
Their popularity has led them to build custom theme bikes for some of the biggest names in corporate America such as Microsoft, Lincoln and Coca-Cola. Today, Orange County Choppers is regarded as one of the world's premier builders of custom motorcycles.
About Orange County Choppers
Many are under the mistaken belief that the company is based in Orange County, California; rather, it is based in the county of the same name in New York state. In fact in one of the episodes of American Chopper, Paul Sr. was shown getting a tattoo on his left arm with the designation OCC New York in order to clear up this very point. OCC's production facility was initially located in the hamlet of Rock Tavern, but has since moved to nearby Montgomery. The company also operates a retail store in Montgomery, New York, another store at the Palisades Center Mall in West Nyack, and a season kiosk at the Woodbury Commons Outlet Mall in Central Valley, NY.

OCC started as a sideline to the family's steel manufacturing enterprise, Orange County Ironworks, which was founded in the 1970s. In the late 1990s, Teutul Sr. began manufacturing custom motorcycles as an extension of his steel business, and in 1999 he founded Orange County Choppers. The company's first bike, "True Blue", was debuted at the 1999 Daytona Biketoberfest.
11. The bike itself has been modeled after a fire truck, and an actual steel rivet from the World Trade Center has been integrated into the bike itself, mounted atop the bike's gas tank. Paulie is noted as stating that the bike was themed "343", the number of New York firefighters who gave their lives on 9/11.
The popularity of American Chopper led the United States Air Force to commission a $150,000 "Air Force Bike", first put on public display in March 2005. The motorcycle is ten feet long and is modeled after the F-22 Raptor, complete with Air Force symbol rims, riveted gas tank, Raptor exhausts and rear-view mirrors in the shape of jets. Air Force recruiters commissioned it as a public outreach tool.

American Chopper: The Series
American Chopper: The Series is a Learning Channel reality television series produced by Pilgrim Films & Television Inc. The popular series is based around the founder of the company, Paul Teutul, Sr., and his son, Paul Teutul, Jr., also known as Paulie or simply Junior, as the two run a business creating custom motorcycles in their workshop, Orange County Choppers. The workshop is based in Montgomery, New York.
The contrasting attitudes of the men and their propensity for sulking often lead to fiery but humorous verbal exchanges as they meet unusually short schedule deadlines for building distinct custom choppers.
Originally a show on the Discovery Channel, the series moved to Discovery's sister channel, TLC, on December 28, 2006, starting off with an 18-hour marathon. Its first season on TLC premiered on January 18, 2007.
American Chopper: Featured staff
Typically Paul Jr. works alongside fabricators and mechanics such as Rick Petko, Nick Hansford, Christian Welter, and former employees Vinnie DiMartino (who left OCC to start V-Force Customs in 2007) and Cody Connelly (a BOCES student intern who has joined DiMartino's business), to create dozens of custom motorbikes. Paul Sr. supervises the builds and has built motorcycles himself. Michael Teutul, commonly referred to as Mikey, serves as the shop's custodian and webmaster, and provides comic relief to the show. He has been seen doing metal work occasionally, as one of his early jobs was working at Orange County Ironworks.
The show also documents their personal and promotional activities ranging from magazine photo shoots to family holidays and custom bike shows.

The Orange County Choppers Shelby GT 500E "Eleanor" Bike
Another legendary OCC bike is up for grabs on eBay right now. OCC built this Shelby GT 500E "Eleanor" chopper for Carroll Shelby on their international TV show "American Chopper". The only one of it's kind in the world was built to match the Shelby "Super Snake" GT 500E limited edition muscle cars by Unique Performance.
Designed as the ultimate Shelby motorcycle, the chopper features handcrafted sheet metal including a Shelby rear spoiler. The tank looks like the head of a cobra with fangs below the handlebars and airbrushed snake scales. Among many other unique details, the handlebars, feature wood inlay like the original Shelby's steering wheel.
Carroll Shelby's signature and the Shelby GT 500E logo are embroidered into the custom leather seat. The engine is supercharged just like the Shelby GT 500E Super Snake, producing an amazing 131HP.
P.S.: This one of a kind Shelby Chopper is being offered from a private collection with an appraisal of 1.2 million (US$).
