A Homeschool Cat is an Educated Cat
Meet Oreo, one of our homeschooled cats. My daughter "Sprite" is educated at home and since the cats like to get in the middle of everything we do, I figure that these are some very educated cats!
Look at the photos for the evidence. And join in the fun by adding some funny captions! What is Oreo really thinking? Does he enjoy homeschool?

Oreo Making a Craft
When Oreo was small, we started kitty-garten with lots of hands-on learning. Here is a photo of Oreo with a salt dough craft he and Sprite worked on!
Give it a caption below.

Pfett...bleck! Now I know why you called it salt dough!

Oreo at the Computer
work a little....
Computer skills are important in education today. Sprite already has a blog and her own Squidoo lenses. Oreo likes to learn about Flickr, Tagfoot, and the Internet alongside Sprite.

Taking a Rest at the Keyboard
sleep a little...
Learning is hard work! So Oreo takes frequent catnaps. Did you know cats sleep 18 hours a day?

Oreo Studies Math
work a little...
Sprite learns math through a living math approach, similar to the way Charlotte Mason recommended. Living math includes lots of hands-on and real life experiences as well as notebooking. See Oreo with the math manipulatives and the math notebook? He's doing living math!

Dang it, Jimmie, if you don't pay attention, your grades will never improve!

Cat Nap
sleep a little...
While Sprite continues her work, Oreo takes another catnap. He's got to get in those 18 daily hours of sleep!

For all you pet owners.
Our cats are part of the family, so they participate (invited or not) in most of our activities. How about YOU?
Oreo Studies the Periodic Table of the Elements
work a little
Last year, Sprite studied physics for science. This year the topic is chemistry. Here is Oreo helping Sprite with her periodic table of the elements chart.

...and where my back paw is pointing, that's sulfur. Mix it with the elements we discussed in Chapter 3, and you get a pretty big explosion.

Other Oreos
These are not my Oreo. But Oreo is quite a popular name for a cat. In fact, according to the American Veterinary Pet Insurance Company, Oreo is the #22 top name for male cats! Catster even has an entire page devoted just to pictures of cats named Oreo.

Panda Fascination

The Panda Bear is most certainly one of the most famous and beloved of the world's endangered animals. Personally, I never was a huge fan of the panda until I saw them in person at a research center in China. They are amazingly beautiful animals -- g...
