The perfect party goodies
This will be the most delicious desert to bring to a party. Beware: it's so yummy you might have to make double the amount!! Follow the instructions for the great party goodies. It's very simple to make, with only 3 ingredients needed.
Ingredients
What you will need is....
1 (16 ounce) Oreo Sandwich Cookies, divided
1 (8 ounce) package of Philadelphia Creme Cheese, softened
2 (8 ounce) packages of Baker's Semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted
1 (8 ounce) package of Philadelphia Creme Cheese, softened
2 (8 ounce) packages of Baker's Semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted
The process...
#1 - Divide all oreos (taking out the white creme filling).
#2 - Crush the cookies in a blender. Make sure there are no sharp edges and the cookies are finely crushed into powder.
#3 - Put the crushed oreos into a big bowl and add in creme cheese.
#4 - Mush together these two ingredients until it'll be pasty.
#5 - Put into fridge for about an hour.
#6 - Make little balls (about 40) out of all the paste and put them onto a plate.
#7 - Put the plate(s) back into a fridge for a little while. (Don't want to melt the balls in the hot chocolate).
#8 - In a little bowl, melt chocolate in the microwave.
#9 - Take two teaspoons and put the ball into the melted chocolate. With the use of the teaspoons, make sure that all the truffle area is covered with chocolate. Again using the teaspoons, place the covered truffle back onto the plate.
#10 - Once done covering all truffles, put them into a fridge til they'll be firm.

Food allergies?
No problem.
If you are allergic to gluten, that's no problem. Stop & Shop offers gluten free oreo-like cookies (by Glutino). Follow the same steps, except with these cookies instead.
Lactose intolerant? Oreo cookies are already lactose free. The only thing is the creme cheese. Either you can take lactaid pills, or if you're lucky, you can find lactose free creme cheese. Haven't seen one yet, but maybe sometime soon!

- Sounds good. I'll have to give this a try. Wonder if it would work with chocolate crunchies instead of oreos -- would save having to lick all the middles off ;-)
