*It's a boy!* - *It's a girl!*

Isn't this one of the most wonderful and exhilarating announcements one can ever hear?

For me - it was *It's a girl!* Not just once - but twice!

If you are awaiting or celebrating the arrival of a baby, you're probably going to share in the joy by bringing a gift to baby and mommy.

This lens aims to guide you in choosing personal care baby shower gifts wisely and for the greatest possible benefit to baby and mommy.

Newborn baby - newborn mommy

I remember the indescribable joy of becoming a mommy for the first time. Labor pains that had seemed to go on forever were forgotten. I held my sweet miracle baby in my arms and knew that I would give her all my love always and forever more. So far so good.

A couple of days later two newborns left the hospital: my baby - and I, the newborn mommy who was worried because she had missed the hospital baby bathing class.

Was I really ready to be a good mommy? Well, my little baby was my best teacher - we both needed each other's constant love and care and so, everything went exceedingly well.

After all, what's more natural than being a mommy? It all fell into place, naturally, like it all fell into place for my kitty when she had kittens and knew just what to do, naturally. I can't imagine my kitty ever worrying about how to bathe her babies.

What's a natural?

More about that towards the bottom of this page - you don't want to miss it ;)

Showered with love

My friends had given me a baby shower, so I was well equipped with all kinds of wonderful and useful things for baby. I was very grateful for all those gifts - they had been given with love and I used them all, including the various lotions and potions. After all, some of my friends were experienced mommies and knew just what works best for baby and mommy.

This mommy gets a clue

Even though I had worked as a chemist/biologist in various research labs most of my life, I did not always do any research on the products I bought in the grocery and drug store. Only lately have I become a label reader, better yet - call me an ingredient detective.

I am now carefully sniffing out and evaluating the different natural, organic, and certified organic claims made by various manufacturers.

Today, if I were asked to put together a baby shower gift list, I would include personal care items for baby and mommy which truly have the highest possible purity and no toxic ingredients whatsoever. I would investigate the claims made by the various manufacturers regarding the purity and therefore the true value of their products.

I'm convinced that price alone is not necessarily a good indicator of value.

When the time comes for my daughters to be mommies, I'll be sure to give them and my grandbabies personal care love gifts that are truly organic. Naturally, as an ingredient detective and an expert mommy who now has lots of experience, I would consider this a wise choice.

My two baby daughters grew into lovely young women who are now in college. When my younger daughter started to dabble in cosmetics, I checked out some of the things she was putting on her face and I realized, that whatever she was using, more often than not had some toxins in it which would be absorbed by her skin. In other words, she might as well be eating them.

So I searched for and found an organic makeup and moisturizer that I could recommend to her. At the same time I realized that I would do well to discard some of my own personal skin care products and make a fresh and much healthier start with certified organic skin care products which I could safely feed my skin.

Yes, we just have to read the labels. I carry round a little book - on additives code - for the infrequent occasions that I go to a supermarket. But it's all the labels on skin care that I must also read. 5* for reminding me

Great start! Why not add a couple of polaroids to break up your text modules. Be sure to include a picture in all of your intro modules in your lenses. 5*****
