The Importance of Getting Enough

Nutrition and eating right is essential for every person to grow well, work hard and stay healthy.

Not eating enough food that the body really need will cause a person to be poorly nourished or malnourished, and leads to various health problems. We need to constantly eat ample amount of highly nutritional food to ensure the ill prevention and cell reproducing system of our body are working accordingly.

There is also lots of other sickness that often made worse by not eating proper food.

Are We Really Getting Enough?

Some of you might be thinking; "I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables, so I must be on the safe side." Unfortunately, it's a bit more complicated than that.

In today's world where everything are moving so fast, even crops are being rushed to be produced more to satisfy the fast growing demand. To cope this, producers just have to resort to using pesticides to control disease and insect attack.

PAN UK (formerly the Pesticide Trust) cites studies that shown:

  • 93% of non-organic oranges analysed contained pesticide residues
  • 78% of apples analysed contained pesticide residues
  • 43% of all fruit and vegetables analysed had detectable levels of pesticides
  • 50% of lettuce contained residues from 7 or more chemical
  • 71% of cereal bars with residues
  • 83% of oily fish showed pesticide residues

Scary huh? Fortunately, there is a way around all this, and it is by going ORGANIC!

What Is Organic Food Exactly?

Organic food is crops and animals produced and fed with natural food without the use of any chemical additives. Scientists agree that organic farming delivers a more healthier and nutritionally enhanced food.

Fruits and vegetables are produce by farming the natural way and concentrates on producing a fertile soil.

As for animals, it is reared on organic farms and housed properly so they have plenty of room to move about and behave like normal animals do. They are fed healthy food sources and not those laden with drugs and other chemicals.

How Can Organic Food Benefit Us

The most important benefits are the top quality level of vitamins and minerals which are naturally developed. Scientific evidence from recent studies have proven that organic foods are superiorly more nutritious than conventional foods. These high-standard nutrients are vital to the ill prevention and cell reproduction system of our body.

The other common benefit is that of taste. Organic food just tastes much better compared to those that are conventionally grown or produced. It seems that the taste has been leeched out of the conventionals, along with the quality of its nutrients presumably.

Besides the obvious benefits of nutritional value and taste, there are also environmental aspects that were made good by organic farming. Crops that is grown organically, which is without the use of dangerous pesticides, encourage pest reducing insects back to farms and help to protect crops. This also caused fewer chemicals in the soil which leads to less pollution of the rivers with nitrates.

Worms and other micro-organisms thrive in the naturally fertilized soil that can be otherwise sterile
on intensive, chemically enhanced farms. This helped to produce a better and balanced ecosystem.
